The first pictures have been released for the sequel to the Oscar winning, 1987, ball kicking, classic Wall Street. The April 23, 2010, release will be directed by Oliver Stone and will feature Shia The Beef, whose name I still don’t care to copy and paste each time, in the role of a young investment banker. Michael Douglas’ face v3.0 will be reprising his original role of comically-named Gordon Gekko.
“In my father’s world, making a million was a ton,” Oliver Stone tells USA Today in a new feature on the film. “I come back to Wall Street now, and it’s not a million dollars. It’s a billion dollars. And a billion is nothing. They don’t even consider that the beginning of a hedge fund. That is what is amazing about the ’90s and 2000s — how rich people got.” Stone, who originally passed on the script for Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, did eventually return for the sequel. “I guess the crash, which happened in the meantime, made it more interesting,” Stone says of its relevance today.
