Tony Parker was not blindsided by divorce. Parker is speaking out, for reasons I’m having trouble fathoming. Despite the fact he’s being smeared online as another scummy cheater, which would be the case if he really did sleep with his teammate’s wife, he seemed less of a media whore. Soon-to-be ex-wife Eva Longoria was the one looking the fool. The divorce news broke, a day early, and it would have been harder to paint herself as the ‘cheated-on victim’ if Parker were seen to have filed first. She stomped her feet, prompted retractions of partially-true stories, and looked the buffoon the next day upon filing for the ’100% false’ divorce that wasn’t happening. Seems Parker is in as desperate need of attention. He’s speaking to People magazine about how he knew his marriage ended. ‘Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately,’ he says in a statement issued by his rep. ‘I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles.’ Furthermore, he didn’t file first. ‘I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California,’ he explains. ‘We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private.’
