You make some very good points. I watched Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the first time, yesterday. I had to make two attempts to sit through it. Though beautifully shot, there was such a lack of fluidity and any meaninful effort to storytell. Hopefully this will be better. You make some very good points. I watched Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the first time, yesterday. I had to make two attempts to sit through it. Though beautifully shot, there was such a lack of fluidity and any meaninful effort to storytell. Hopefully this will be better.

He has great vision and his sets are often awe-inspiring, such as in Alice. I have no doubt that visually the film will be amazing. However, in most Tim Burton films, what you gain in imagery, you lose in story-telling. So I'm interested to see how he pulls this off. I just really hope he doesn't allow on imagery alone like in so many of his other films (ex. Batman) I’m not the biggest Burton fan. But I like the stuff he and Johny Depp have done together-save for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- because they both work so well together, since they are friends of sorts.
