As you may have read from the initial report and the follow-up report Shawne Merriman was arrested on Sunday (September 6, 2009) for the alleged assault of girlfriend, Tila Tequila.
Tequila, the reality and social media star, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, used her official Twitter page to communicate with fans about her alleged assault.
In the case, Merriman’s rep says that there was no assault. They claim Tequila was intoxicated, and that fuelled the night’s events. However, fans of the reality star, famed in part for her two seasons of A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, will know that she often talks about her allergy to alcohol. To make the point and go some way to proving that her account of the night was the accurate one, she reminded fans that she does not drink, as Merriman’s rep alleges.
In Tila Tequila’s Twitter, she says the following of what happened.
- Tila Tequila on arriving back home safely after leaving the hospital: “I have just gotten back home safely to Los Angeles. Thank you for all of your love and prayers, and I appreciate every one’s support.”
- Tila Tequila on her allergy to anything contianing alcohol: “I am allergic to alcohol. It has been publicly known for years. That is how I got the name Tila “Tequila” cuz the irony. I can’t drink.”
- Tila Tequila on her small height/ weight compared to her 6 foot 4 inch 272 pound mate: “I am only 93 pounds and 4′ft 11.”
- Tila Tequila on basically being called a liar by the media and Merriman’s rep: “The truth will set you free… God is with me.”
[UPDATE: Tequila had tweeted that she was drunk at some point two days ago.]
Looking at Merriman and Tequila’s Twitter history, she wrote about being drunk.
- Tila Tequila on heading to a Chargers party (notably less coherent than the above tweets): “Dman im drunk!!!!!!! Im headed to this Chargers VS 49ers game right now!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYYY!!!!!! @shawnemerriman u ready?? LETS GOOOOO! =)”

If you look at her tweets from days leading up to the supposed attack, she states she’s drunk in more than one, is she meaning drunk off love, come on this girl is a liar!

I saw a few odd tweets, but as usual with these cases the details are so muddied that we sometimes have to take the reports at face value. I saw a few tweets about “Jesus Juice” and RTs about being hung over. I have no clue at this point who is telling the truth though!

Like I stated in my personal blog, I don’t know what happened. If dude did in fact put his hands on her, then shame on him.
However, since Tila is such an attention whore (and this fact has been proven in the past), I’m inclined to believe that she was drunk, doesn’t want to admit it and simply wants to go on a champagne campaign as the new face of domestic violence. I’m not falling for it and quite frankly, I’m over her. Her 15 minute countdown ended ions ago and she just doesn’t know how to pick up, let go and let God.

I was going to side with her in the interest of maintaining the stance I took during the Rihanna/ Chris Brown case. But people (seemingly) crying wolf like this only makes it harder for real sufferers of domestic violence to come forward and be heard. That’s what irritates me more.
She obviously knows she’s wrong, all the posts on her twitter from earlier about being drunk are gone, she’s hiding something and has made a poor attempt at getting an innocent man in trouble. To cry wolf in a domestic violence situation is disgusting and she needs to just disappear.
