“They Thought We Wouldn’t Notice” is gonna be a fun set of posts about funny overseas (mainly Japanese) ads that A-D list celebs have been in — thinking that we would never notice.
Some of the adverts will be more recent, while others will be from the ‘Celebrity Way-Back Machine’; dug out from under clips of childhood stars in baby beauty pageants and 80′s pop stars with mullets.
If you missed it, the first post was an old Japanese Brad Pitt coffee ad.
In the advert above Sean Connery can be seen taking a leisurely drive through a countryside scene, which was presumably envisioned by someone on a really bad acid trip. The actor is sat in his whip chanting away, next to his robot bunny friend. The star pulls up to his crib, which just happens to be shaped like a giant carton of the product, ‘Biogurt’.
To be honest, the whole thing makes my head hurt and wonder precisely which medications the Director was taking while making this. It’s shrill, it’s trippy and really tacky. I bet he thought we’d never notice!
