Thandie Newton covers InStyle UK December 2009.
Thandie Newton is a worthy cover star. The talented and mind-meltingly pretty actress is classy and won’t be a Megan Fox and rob readers of their will to live.
I fell a little in inappropriate love with the actress when I saw her wasting her talent in Crash. The movie was good and thought-provoking, sure, but she was still made to be cliched and rather wasted. Whatever puts her on more people’s radar is fine by me. More women with class and style, and less bed-wetters barely out of their tweens struggling to construct whole sentences.

- Thandie Newton speaks to InStyle magazine about her fashion essentials: “In the right wedges, you can do anything!” says Thandie Newton. Let’s face it, Thandie making a fashion faux pas is about as likely as seeing Posh in a tracksuit.
- The 37-year-old mum of two goes on to discuss her enviable slender figure: “That’s genetic! And I’m a Jivamukti yoga freak – it’s food for my soul. When I’m not working, I’ll drop Rip off at school and Nico at nursery, then I go to yoga. I also have an amazing personal trainer, who I see whenever I can.”
- She also cheekily discusses her feelings on having dishy co-stars and whether she’s ever thought ‘Ooh, if I wasn’t married…’ : [Laughs] “Listen to you! I’ve never dated an actor, just had the odd fling. Isn’t that weird? I don’t flirt with people – a long time ago, I stopped using my sexuality to have a relationship with people. I don’t think you really get a sense of me, sexually, and that’s why I have really great relationships with straight men.”

Awesome- I love Thandie! You’re right. Crash was weak, but I have to give her major props for her American accent. I can’t think of another UK actress who compares in that dept.
I loved the accent, she didn’t get WAS (Wandering Accent Syndrome). I just like actresses who carry themselves like that – she’s a class act.
