Texting While Driving Video PSA Causes Stir

A new texting while driving video PSA has been released.

The graphic video created by the Gwent Police Department in Wales, serves as a warning to those on the road who endanger others by not paying attention to the road ahead. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of texting while driving and is being shown to soon-to-be traumatised UK high school students.

A recent study revealed texting and driving is actually more dangerous than drinking and driving since the reaction time for a texter was longer than for someone legally drunk at 0.08. The Texting PSA shows the crash and the horrible consequences of an accident caused by a teen texter. A study also shows texting and driving is more common between the ages of 17 and 24. Oddly, the graphic nature of the PSA is causing it to be something of an Internet hit. It shows a total of four people being killed; two of the teen driver’s friends, and the parents of two children in an oncoming car. However, it has gotten thosands of views already, where it can be seen in full on YouTube. (GRAPHIC) Click below to watch.
