Taylor Swift: Part Of Me Just Wants To Be Alone

Because even Taylor Swift cannot accurately recall the names of everyone Taylor Swift has dated, it’s finally dawned on her why her revolving door love life has become the butt of the joke. A source says it’s finally occurred to the singer why writing ‘It’s not you, it’s me’ in your dream journal in crayon doesn’t make it true when Us Weekly Magazine is using its front cover to call out your serial monogamy. The source explains: ‘At first Taylor just thought it was funny how much interest people had in her love life and she went along with it. But now she’s the butt of jokes on Saturday Night Live, in the tabloids, and on the late night shows. She laughed it off, but the jokes made about her at the Golden Globes got under her skin. The jokes being made about her love life embarrass her, but it’s finally hit home with Taylor. She really wants to make an effort to slow down and not jump from boyfriend to boyfriend.’ And Swift sort of confirms this in an interview with VIBE Magazine January 2013 in which she ponders what it’s like to be alone: ‘Independence is something I’ve always needed, from when I was young,’ says the singer. ‘But I love the idea of romance and falling in love. I’ve never really had a long relationship. So that’s something I think about for the future. It’s an interesting part of my personality. Part of me just wants to be alone.’ And she told Parade: ‘People think I want to get married really young . I don’t know why. I’m a romantic person, but that doesn’t mean I want to miss out on being in my young 20s. I tend to think things are love and then look back and reevaluate.’
