Taylor Swift Dates A Lot Because Happy Relationships And Good Guys Don’t Exist

Taylor Swift covers Cosmopolitan December 2012 in which she’s tapping more emoticon shocked faces into her iPad rather than using her big girl words to express her dismay at another broken relationship. About a week ago, Radar Online and Us Weekly reported that Conor Kennedy escaped with his life, leaving nothing but one of Swift’s pre-written-for-your-convenience ‘It’s not you, it’s me’ Post-It Notes. This week, People Magazine says not so much. Since Swift’s publicist a.k.a. ‘a source’ says she did the dumping this time. And in an interview full of this ‘ಠ_ಠ’ Swift explains she’ll never again feel like this ‘(ღ˘⌣˘ღ)’ because all men make her feel like this ‘ಡ_ಡ’ and sometimes like this ‘(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻’

  • On what she won’t tolerate in a relationship: ‘I can’t deal with someone wanting to take a relationship backward or needing space or cheating on you. It’s a conscious thing: it’s a common-sense thing… If I was in that situation, if I were them, would I be doing this to me? Would I ever do this to them? If the answer is no, then they’re not treating me fairly. I just don’t ever want to end up in a relationship that isn’t fair ever again.’
  • On what she needs in a relationship: ‘I need that unexplainable spark…I just need to see someone and feel Oh, no, uh-oh. It’s only happened a few times in my life, but I feel like if I was gonna be with someone forever, it would be because I saw them and I thought, Oh, no.’
  • On the dark side of dating: ‘I’ve had a lot of dark and twisty situations happen, enough to realize that when someone exhibits signs of evoking a dark and twisty relationship and dark and twisty feelings, it’s not interesting to me.’
  • On learning when to get out: ‘I’ve learned when to get out. I’ve never wasted too much time with the wrong person and that’s one thing I’m proud of.’
  • On whether she can imagine doing anything else other than music: ‘Being a mom full time, doing everything for my kids, having a bunch of them. One day, I’m sure. But that’s the only other thing that could be as thrilling for me as doing this.’
  • On the lyric that resonates the most: ‘I have a chalkboard in my house in L.A., and every week, I’ve been writing a new lyric on it from the record just to figure out which ones pop out to me, which seem most important. There’s a song that’s the first track on the record, and it says, ‘Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right.’ That’s been my whole philosophy on love this whole time anyway.’
  • On game-playing in relationships: ‘I think a lot of times when you meet someone you feel like you need to appear like you’re not interested in them so that they’ll be more interested in you. But what happens when you start showing him that you actually like him? What’s he gonna do then? Play the tape forward; how do you keep a guy like that? I don’t want to sign up for that.’
