Taylor Momsen didn’t mean to insult Rihanna, when talking about how the pop charts in general were going down the pooper. Momsen’s quotes in Spin magazine made headlines, last week, when she was quoted as saying that she wanted to bring back real rock and was sick of the pretenders clogging up the pop charts. At the wise old age of 17, she seemed to think she was the person to resurrect the genre… even though she lacks the mental faculty to put on pants and tuck in her tampon string when only wearing her underwear on stage.
Momsen tells T4, “That quote was spun, it’s a misquote. I was arguing the difference between rock versus pop and it’s a very pop-oriented world at the moment. There is no rock and the people who dress or have guitars in their music, [for] audiences, that’s the closest thing they have to rock right now. We’re looking to bring back a real rock band and Rihanna… I wasn’t insulting Rihanna. Rihanna’s great.” [Contact Music]

With every syllable this girl displays ignorance.
She also does the same with every cough, fart, and splutter.
What is really great is that she is speaking of rock and music when she is just having her teen crisis and need attention. I just wish she wasn’t so much broadcasted like the rest of the kids having a puberty crisis. But instead because she landed a role on tv, she gets to run her mouth and save “rock”. I am not sure if she makes a difference between mainstream and indie … but rock is fine. The indie people know not to touch that main stream stuff … it is nothing to be cool about, the mainstream stuff is just stripped of as much essence as possible in order to please the most people. That is not interesting. Like that girl who still plays the “shocking” card in 2010. Not interesting, void of essence and useless… but go on save rock for a year or so … someone else is gonna be there soon to take your place … cheers !
