Keira Knightley Domestic Violence Message PSA Banned in the UK.

The Keira Knightley domestic violence PSA is too full on for British television broadcasting censors. The promo message, starring the 24-year-old actress has been banned from UK TV for being too, well, violent.

In the ad, the Atonement star plays an actress returning home from a film set to be confronted by a violent boyfriend who accuses her of having an affair with a co-star–she is then attacked and knocked to the floor.

In Britain, we have what is called a ‘watershed’, meaning after 9pm (when this was shown) you are free to curse, shag and generally make a nuisance of yourself without fear of any particularly meaningful recourse from the viewing public. 

Guess it offended someone anyway, as the advert was pulled after only a limited showing.

The logic for the ban makes as much sense as saying the current controversial morning after pill TV adverts should be banned, in case they spread lax morals!?!

Keira Knightley Stop Domestic Violence

The video above is a public service announcement/ advert thingy starring Keira Knightley.

Likely inspired by the brain-rotting saga between Chris Brown and Rihanna (that nearly saw me whittle my fingers to the bone from all the typing), Knightley has decided to front the eye-opening campaign.

In the two-minute clip, which debuts April 6 in movie theaters, Knightley heads home after a long day of filming. Once there, she is brutally attacked by her boyfriend. The camera pans out, the beating continues, the location is revealed to be an empty film set and the ad reads, “Isn’t it time someone called cut?”

The actress, 24, says she filmed the spot because “while domestic violence exists in every section of society we rarely hear about it…. Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week.”

Nadya Suleman gave a live interview on Big Boy Radio Show

Nadya Suleman, not seeming to understand the irony given the negative publicity it will generate, gave a live interview on the Big Boy Radio Show.

The mother of 14, gave her first ever radio interview after she presumably tired of competing with Doctor Phil for screen time on his TV show.

In case you do not have enough time to watch this in full and are wandering THAT burning question… yes, her Octopussy-laced brand of crazy does translate well on radio…

From her own mouth “I know you’re looking at me like I’m crazy.”

The good people at Adidas are really trying to stave off the recession. They have stretched their ’09 advertising budget and jam-packed their new advert with a whole host of celebrities.

The promotional video above is so Nike it’s not even funny, but let’s pretend this is really original – don’t wanna hurt their feelings.

The commercial stars Katy Perry, David Beckham, the Ting Tings, Missy Elliott, Estelle, Method Man, Redman and music mogul Russell Simmons.

I am a person who usually goes out of their way not to check out this kind of thing. Whether it is giving up on the magazine industry entirely, after they stopped bothering to serve me any real news or features in favour of publications that were 2/3 ads and glorified advertorials, or watching digital TV so I can press “Ad Skip” and never watch any adverts in my programming, I try not to be swayed and rely on word of mouth, but this video kind of made me LOL @ its desperation and it’s kind of like “Where’s Waldo: Celebrity Edition”.
