The Grey’s Anatomy spoof that was featured on Jimmy Kimmel’s Big Night of Stars pre-Emmy Awards special, can be seen above. The clip starred Michael Phelpsin his Speedo as scantily-clad Dr. McSwimmy [Website – Amy Grindhouse]
Tina Fey’s “Saturday Night Live” spoof of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday that gave NBC.com its most-watched viral video ever. The video not only topped past favorites like “D— in a Box” and “Lazy Sunday,” but managed to outdo copies uploaded to YouTube.
Fey’s mimicry of Palin has been a barnburner for NBC.com, garnering 5.7 million views as of Wednesday, according to internal NBC data. That is far and away the most popular video on the site, easily exceeding second-place finisher “Box,” which collected just over 1 million views on NBC.com.
My ickle blog-ling is only 6 weeks old, too new to really get 4 figures per-day on a regular basis, but this post has gotten around 2,000+ views on its own and is my most emailed story to date.
Over the weekend at Amy Grindhouse, at least one person was reading or emailing the story, for every few minutes of the day – oh yeah and THANKS to everyone who viewed/ shared it!
Just for shits and giggles watch“Dick in a Box” below.
You know the economy has gone boobies up, when even MTV is trimming its product line.
Actually, I have to be honest, this probably has arse-all to do with the credit crunch – but as the US economy went nuclear over the weekend, it seems vaguely plausible.
After 10 years of pimping pumping out inane teenybopper music, MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL), has imploded and will soon be taken off-the-air, for a ‘break’.
Dave Sirulnick, the shows executive producer, answered worried fans by stating that the show is not ending entirely:
“We want to close this era of `TRL’ in a big celebratory way, and 10 is a great number,” Sirulnick said. “And 10 is the number that `TRL’ counted down every single day for 10 years, and we hit this 10th (anniversary) and we thought, `You know what? This feels like the right time and let’s celebrate it and let’s reward it. And let’s let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute.’ Let it catch its breath! Been working hard — for 10 years!”
Um… yup.. cos’ yanking a popular, decade-old show off the air, for a ‘break’ is standard procedure in this money-hungry day and age?
Chuh!
Like the ‘break’ me and my ex boyf. are on at the moment.
After 10 years together, we are now on a ‘break’ too.
We are kind of still together – I let myself into his flat and feed his kitty. But then at the same time, we are kind of on a break – cos, when I am watching him through my night-vision goggles, I can see him having ‘sexi times’ with another woman.
Click the video above now to watch Saturday Night Live alum, Tina Fey, in her triumphant return to SNL – as broadcast Saturday 13 September [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
Tina Fey’s breakout performance was a spoof of Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. Fey’s former Weekend Update co-host, Amy Poehler, spoofed Senator Hillary Clinton.
The performances were spot on, as usual; scarily accurate and virtually indistinguishable from the real thing!
My only advice when watching this – it may help to watch through one of those special visors you use to look at a solar eclipse. If you watch the unbridled genius, that is this parody, without protective eyewear, your eyesight may be irreversibly damaged (or not, whatevs).
Being in the UK and struggling on without Sky, as usual, I can only go on the entertainment news broadcast from across the pond. From what I gather, this episode was chock full of entertainment goodies; such as appearances from democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, Michael Phelps and Lil Wayne… and then for the last 30 minutes of the show, they just said ‘F*ck it!’ and broadcast this skit on a loop over-and-over, until their time was up – or, if not – they should have done!
Let us watch in awe and pretend that this is a skit, is just a skit – and not a covert attempt, on behalf of SNL, to pull the world’s best publicised bait-and-switch!
Tina Fey’s spoof vs. the real Sarah Palin -Who wins? You decide!

Lauren Conrad, or LC form the Hills as she is better known, has just signed up to write a three-book series of young adult fiction for HarperCollins, the publisher tells People [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
The 22-year-old reality TV starlet revealed the books will be loosely based on her experience turning into a reality TV star.
It’s definitely influenced by my own life,” Lauren said. “The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities.”
On who will be included in her books, The Hills star shared, “I’m not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren’t really mine to tell. Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out.”
“I run ideas by Lo [Boswoth] and I’ll ask for her opinion because I value my friends’ opinions,” Lauren said.
*Sigh* It’s times like this I miss not being on the bottle!
