Apparently, there are ‘persistent’ rumours that Jeremy Renner is gay. Which means little to me, except that he’s popular enough to have become tabloid fodder so the kind of rumours that follow George Clooney and Bruno Mars follow him. Incidentally, Mars was fake-outed by CNN who were spoon-fed fake information by a notorious message board (I read about it yesterday: the board who supplied the fake information about Mars being gay, which he’s not, bragged about pranking CNN on April Fool’s Day). Well, the time has come for Renner to address his own rumours. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said: ‘I want my personal life to be personal, and it’s not f**king true.’ He continued, impertinent: ‘I don’t care if you’re talking about things that are true, you’re still talking about my personal life. How about I go peek in your window, take what underwear you wore last night, whose husband you were f**king, and shove that in the megaphone throughout your neighborhood? How does that feel?’

Despite his attempts to placate the media with an admission of a ‘prescription pill problem’ and an admission that he voluntarily went into treatment, there’s further speculation today about the substances he was taking for which he required treatment. It was initially speculated by TMZ.com that The Situation may have used pills, although it had no specifics at the time. It was later revealed by RadarOnline.com that The Situation used prescription pills with suspicion that he also took illegal drugs, probably party drugs that got out of hand, some suspect cocaine. Now there are new claims that his drinking is an issue, and claims he went through detox for the booze before entering Cirque Lodge in Utah for the issue with prescription pills. Moreover, he’s reportedly telling people at the treatment center that his paid, up to six-figure, club appearances escalated the drinking problems (he’s dependent on that income).

RadarOnline claims to know the 29-year-old’s drugs of choice, his ‘addiction’ according to a source: ‘Xanax and Ambien.’ The source claims The Situation took ‘very, very large amounts of the two drugs to counter-act his hard partying, which included use of illegal substances. It was getting extremely dangerous for Mike because when he would take Ambien and Xanax he would already be under the influence, and he would forget how many pills he took, causing him to take too many sometimes. Mike was blacking out, and suffering from memory loss, which is very common when taking large doses of the two prescription drugs.’

But none of that matters because he’s reportedly not willing to forgo the appearances because MONIES: ‘Mike doesn’t want to give up his paid club promotional appearances; he loves the attention that he gets from the ladies and the money is great. Mike leads a very expensive life and he doesn’t want his lifestyle to suffer because of his decision to go to rehab. He is very upset that stint in rehab has become public knowledge, because he doesn’t want it to affect his bottom line. Mike’s brother handles his club appearances and he has been telling club managers that Mike has no plans on giving up the nightlife.’

With the drug in her system at the time she died, as confirmed in the just-released toxicology report, and with her handlers reportedly removing cocaine from the scene before officials arrived as speculated by the tabloids but never proven, cocaine was one contributing factor in the death of Whitney Houston.

The L.A. County Coroner has released the official cause of death: accidental drowning. They also note that Houston used cocaine ‘immediately prior.’ Coke and heart disease contributed to her death. Coroner Chief Craig Harvey called Houston a ‘chronic’ user of coke with an ‘acute’ level in her system. Moreover, it’s ‘very possible,’ a source tells TMZ.com, coke and heart disease caused her to lose consciousness in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel (there was a 60% narrowing of her arteries, a direct result of using, probably causing a heart attack in the tub). As well as coke, Houston also had marijuana, anxiety medication Xanax, muscle relaxer Flexeril, and allergy medication Benadryl, in her system when she died, none of which appeared to contribute to the death. Police only found Xanax, Ibuprofen, and Midol at the scene with no evidence of cocaine. Leading sources to claim ‘an individual removed cocaine from the room before authorities arrived.’ TMZ speculates that person is the same one who ‘supplied Whitney.’ Mover, it’s not clear how long the entourage waited to call 911. Houston’s family statement: ‘We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.’

The Situation has confirmed reports that he’s seeking help for issues with prescription pills. It had been reported by TMZ.com that The Situation was in rehab. His rep claimed: ‘He is not in rehab for substance abuse,’ even though multiple sources said he had issues with pills and TMZ appeared to have tracked him down to Cirque Lodge in Utah. The 29-year-old slammed TMZ on his own website, SitchNews.com, a budget Gawker.com design rip, saying ‘Do NOT Believe Everything You Hear, Especially from TMZ.’ Earlier in the day, he tweeted ‘Getting in amazing shape for season 6. Don’t believe everything you read or hear.’ However there’s a lot of deflecting going on, because he just admitted on his own site that he’s gone somewhere he’s adamant isn’t rehab to get off pills. He issued this statement: ‘I want to set the record straight. I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion. I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys.’ His site adds ‘getting treatment is something Mike has done on his own volition.’ RadarOnline.com sources say he’s also using illegal drugs, although there’s been no admission of that yet.

His father says this is the second time The Situation has needed help for substance abuse. When The Situation was 27, ’We found the facility for him in Florida and we brought him down here and did a 7 day dry out period then he went to another facility for 30 days… he so desperately needed the help.’
