I was not going to cover this as, well… ugh… but what the heck. There is video above showing highlights of the Tiger Woods interview with Tom Rinaldi of ESPN. I was so over covering where Woods was sticking his peen that day, or whatever, during the peak of the affair scandal. Those who were following my posts will have noticed I got bored and wondered off after whore number three. But I gather this is newsworthy, and I’m scared the Blog Gods will fire me from life/ fine me 10 Internets if I don’t at least give you guys a little something.

Brittany Murphy Hubby: She Wasn’t Like Corey

Almost three months after the death of wife Brittany Murphy, Simon Monjack has spoken out again about the star’s death. This time, he’s not pimping out a so-named charity. He’s whining about comparisons between his late wife and late actor Corey Haim. Monjack slammed comparisons between the two deaths, made by the media. He insisted the only similarity was they were both actors.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Monjack expressed distaste at his wife being compared to a known addict, further claiming Murphy never did illegal drugs.

In a new interview with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson, Simon set the record straight on the rumors surrounding his relationship with his late wife. The first topic Simon addressed was the parallels some people have suggested between Brittany’s death and the death of Corey Haim. “[It’s] absurd,” he said, adding that those suggestions make him “furious.” “Corey was someone that had openly used drugs for many, many years and had a problem. Brittany was someone that never used a drug in her life,” he said. Shaun asked, “You never saw, in the years that you were with Brittany, never saw her use illegal drugs?” Simon responded,“Absolutely not and nor did anyone else”. [Access Hollywood]

So, there you have it. A proven problem with illegal narcotics is so much worse than suspected years of abusing prescription drugs. So much so, in fact, that it’s worth ignoring the myriad of other parallels between the two deaths.

Jesse James Statement to Sandra Bullock: Sorry

I haven’t been feverishly covering the crap out of this story, like other bloggers, mainly because I actually like Sandra Bullock and it’s sad to see her go through this. But more so, I am not under the impression that whoring this story from every angle is going to save a small village full of children. It just isn’t. Rather than statements from either camp, or anything more than speculation from sources, there has been very little to say any relationship took place outside of the mind of the tattooed ‘ho mistress, with a tacky nickname. Today, we finally get actual confirmation. In the form of an official statement released to the media by Jesse James, the man who admits to cheating on Bullock.

The backlash on this has been pretty bad and James has been hounded by the press even when picking up his kids. He got so much abuse on Twitter that he had to close the account. The apology was released on People.com. The statement says that some of the allegations were untrue. However, he does admit wrongdoing and poor judgement. Which is more than some stars. James then asks for the forgiveness of Bullock and his kids for causing embarrassment.

Although he called “the vast majority” of allegations against him “untrue and unfounded,” he says in a statement provided to People: “There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me. It’s because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way. This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me.” [People]

Corey Feldman Memorial Letter To Corey Haim

Corey Feldman wrote and posted to his blog a letter in memory of his best friend, Corey Haim. The actors starred together in The Lost Boys and had stayed close friends from then until adulthood. Haim was buried this week, in a ceremony his mother insisted would be small and low-key. As such, Feldman was asked not to attend (Feldman instead began to put together a memorial, to which more people could attend). The “small” part wasn’t so true. The funeral took place in Toronto, March 16, and was attended by over 200 people. By all accounts it wasn’t too much of a media circus, so I guess that part held true.

Clearly saddened and still mourning, Feldman wrote a moving letter to Haim.

He writes, “This is for you on the day of your funeral. First off I am so sorry I am not there with you today. By that I mean my physical body is not with your physical body. However you know that my heart is right at your side. You also know the only reason I am truly not there is out of respect for your mother and her wishes to minimize the media attention as much as possible. I want your family to have a calm peaceful day… Just know I am at home today projecting positive energy for you and your passing.

[He continues, as though writing directly to Haim] “I miss you so much already. When I think of something funny I don’t know who to tell it to. I find myself trying to call you but then remember your not there. I think about the new movies we will soon be doing together and then suddenly realize that the dream is over. I always feared this day would come, and often rehearsed how to face it. But once confronted with the reality of it, it’s so much more painful than I could have ever imagined… My heart is so broken and I know there are so many who feel the same way I do. We will remember your spirit and your fans will help me keep your legacy alive.”

Corey Feldman Will Not Attend Haim Funeral

Corey Feldman released a statement, in which he says he will not be attending the funeral of Corey Haim. Feldman says he will respect the wishes of Haim’s mother, Judy, to have a small and private ceremony and that he is planning a memorial, to which the media, friends, fans, and Hollywood types will be invited.

“In the days following my best friend Corey Haim’s death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me,” [Corey Feldman] explains in a statement. “I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey’s funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small private affair. Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family’s wishes, I have decided not to attend. Instead, I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial,” [Feldman] continues. “As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice. I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community.” [E! Online]

Startifacts Will Cover Corey Haim Funeral Costs

The cost to cover Corey Haim’s funeral will no longer only be supported by donations from fans. It had been reported that Haim’s mother, Judy, had asked fans for donations. However, TMZ reports funeral costs will now be paid for by Startifacts, a memorabilia company that auctioned off some of his belongings.

A company called Startifacts volunteered to donate the proceeds from their Haim-related auctions. A rep for Startifacts says rather than wait til all the sales were complete, they’ll come to the funeral next week with a check for $20,000 to cover the costs of the headstone, transporting the body to Toronto, and whatever else is needed. Corey Haim Family Seek Donations for Funeral

Man this just gets sadder, and sadder. According to Us Weekly, the family of Corey Haim is asking for help from his fans in order to pay for his funeral. The late actor, who died aged only 38-years-old on Wednesday March 10, 2010, will be buried in his native home of Toronto, Canada, next week. On his official website, CoreyHaim.us, a statement from the family has been posted in which they seek further donations towards the The Corey Haim Memorial Fund.

“Due to the unexpected expenses of transporting his body to Canada for final resting, a fund has been set up to help his family”. [Haim's website]

The site then includes instructions on how to send money through PayPal at CoreyHaim.us/Memorial or through the mail, care of his mother, Judy Haim:

To: Corey Haim Memorial Fund, c/o Judy Haim, P. O. Box 87655, 298 John Street, Thornhill, Ontario L3T 7R4, Canada.

I just hope, for the sake of his family, that this is an officially registered charity that is soliciting donations to a so-named fund. And that this doesn’t further follow the story of Brittany Murphy with the fund being found as non-official.

Corey Haim Died RIP: Prescription Drugs Found

Corey Haim died, in the early hours of this morning. The 80s star, best known for his roles alongside fellow former-teen actor Corey Feldman, was 38-years-old at the time of his death. The death had parallels to many of the other celebrity deaths of the past few years; Haim was found in a room of an apartment, by an immediate family member, in the early hours of the morning, he was unresponsive, of a suspected prescription drug overdose. How many times have you read that report now, over and over? Feels like at least a dozen, right?

Haim had been sick, the past couple of days, with flu-like symptoms. Sources tell TMZ the medications found in his home were not related to that specific illness (moreover, there were no illegal narcotics in his home either).

Sources say Haim got out of bed just before 1 AM and collapsed in front of his mother. She called 911 at 12:53 AM and Corey was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 AM. [TMZ]

At this time, though authorities are not certain, it is believed Haim died of a drug overdose. Pics below, and video of Haim three-weeks before his death.

Corey Haim Dead: Accidental Overdose Age 38

Actor Corey Haim, best known for his 80s roles as a teen star including his part in movie The Lost Boys, has died. Police confirm the Canadian actor died in his apartment, in Los Angeles, California. He was only 38-years-old. He collapsed in his bedroom and four bottles of prescription drugs were found nearby.

Haim collapsed in front of his mother, after a suspected accidental drug overdose just before 1AM. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at 2:15AM. Police were called to St. Joseph’s hospital in Burbank, CA, shortly before 4AM PT to investigate. His mother is the one who is thought to have made the 911 call.

According to TMZ, Haim suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001, and he was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center. He also reportedly was in and out of rehab 15 times, and cleaned up in 2004 after moving to Toronto. RIP Haim (1971-2010).

Howard Stern Rips Gabourey Sidibe on His Show

Howard Stern is obviously a douche, but at least he has the manners to be a funny douche. Usually. This time he may have gone too far, ripping into Precious actress Gabourey Sidibe. He said of the heavy-set actress that she was “the most enormous fat Black chick I’ve ever seen.” Um, compared to which other “fat Black chicks”? And, who cares when she can act? Sigh. Whatever. He called her fat, and said that Oprah and others were lying to themselves about her.

[Howard Stern ripped] Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe and her weight on his Sirius satellite show. “There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business, and she’s never going to be in another movie She should have gotten the Best Actress award because she’s never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?” Howard played segments of Oprah’s speech for Gabby from Oscar night on his show [and continued], “Oprah’s another liar, a filthy liar”, Howard added. “She’s telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she’s going to have a career.”

Co-host Robin Quivers continued to discuss the impossibility of Gabby finding work in Hollywood after her debut role in Precious. “And Oprah’s lying and saying you’re going to have a brilliant career”. [OK! magazine]

Oddly, Sidibe has already been cast again. I’m sure, much to Stern’s chagrin. According to OK!, she is set to appear on the Showtime series The C Word. Her next big-screen appearance will be opposite Zoe Kravitz in Yelling to the Sky.
