Nicki Minaj’s Album Looks Exactly as Expected

Nicki Minaj has released the cover to her forthcoming album, Pink Friday. This has been a pretty long time coming and her fans have been frothing at the mouth for new material and the cover reveal. The above is her cover and the album itself is released November 22, 2010. It would have been great for Minaj to stray from the obvious for the cover. It pretty much looks as expected; candy-floss pink, dressed head-to-toe in the same, legs outstretched and she is bug-eyed. The singer’s album pretty much just looks like a still from one of her videos. Aside from the Barbie legs and super-high platform heels. And, she has no arms to speak of. I don’t think so anyway. I think they’re ‘shopped out on purpose. It kind of looks like someone spilled pink paint all over the Fortress of Solitude and Minaj decided to use the space to house her weaves. It’s uninspired, IMHO.

Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair Single Cover Art

Wearing a belt with her name and inexplicably whipping her hair away from the camera, Willow Smith has released her single cover. Whip My Hair got everyone talking upon its radio release and immediately there was speculation about with which record company she would sign. From memory she signed with Jay-Z and so is in good hands as she prepares to release the record with label backing. The nine-year-old, who most went easy on with their criticisms due to her age, seems to have people divided. Which is a great start. Some loved it. Some thought it was overly-auto tuned garbage, Sounds about right. You can’t please everyone.

Here’s the single cover, which at nine shows more taste, personality and energy than the second album cover of Cheryl Cole; Cole’s budget photo shoot/ styling/ photo editing affects/ font choice etc. etc. etc. got people talking about how it could be the worst album title, Messy Little Raindrops, and cover ever. Aside from the fact you’re missing that cute little face, this is a great cover and blends nicely with the preview video uploaded to her YouTube some weeks ago.

According to That Grape Juice, Willow Smith’s Ray-Kay-directed music video for Whip My Hair will debut on October 18, 2010 on VEVO.com and BET’s 106 & Park.

Cheryl Cole Messy Little Raindrops Album Cover

Cheryl Cole has decided to keep the last name of the cheating rat from whom she got a divorce. Moreover, she’s running with it on her second album though I’d hoped she’d get rid of the neck tattoo and move on from that last name. I guess that’s what most of the international audience know her as. Cheryl Cole. Though, from her winning days on Popstars: The Rivals, she remains Cheryl Tweedy (to me). In any case, the singer and television presenter is preparing to release a new album. That’s not really surprising. The live rounds of X Factor UK have started and she promoted Fight For This Love, from her first album, during its previous season. The title is Messy Little Raindrops and the cover appears to have been composed by a pre-tween using Baby’s First Photo Editing Suite.

Willow Smith Has a Teaser to Whip My Hair

So, I guess from the initial post I did about this kid having any kind of career, most of you don’t really like little Willow Smith. I put up a poll in that post, and it was pretty split, but most of you pretty much didn’t like the nine-year-old’s debut single, Whip My Hair. I’m kind of on the fence and I’m prepared to afford her leeway, given her young age/ obvious style and personality. It’s just nice to see someone who came out of the womb with that much style and she talks like her parents instilled some sense into her as well. There seemed to be some concerns, at the release of the song, that she could wrap her childhood up in a bow and mail it to the same place I posted my sobriety (wherever that is, they don’t do returns). I think Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are better parents than that, so I’m not going to pay that much more than lip service. That out of the way, and now that she has a record deal (which she did not upon the song’s release), here is the official teaser for Whip My Hair as taken from her YouTube.

Will Smith’s Daughter is a Musician Too Now…

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s daughter, Willow, single Whip My Hair.

I actually heard about this quite some hours ago, when it made its debut. However, I couldn’t quite break from scratching my butt long enough to post this. I’m taking a 10 minute break, from my duties, and so now I’m finally getting around to throwing this up. For those who, for some reason, are yet to sample its delights, this is the first single of a nine-year-old. The song is called Whip My Hair, the subject matter of which is suitably deep for a child of nine, and it’s by the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Willow Smith. It got a pretty mixed reaction on BBC Radio 1 Xtra, who gave it its UK debut. YouTube comments are similarly divided. It makes me want to whip my ‘hurrr’, as she pronounces it, and then kill myself for so doing. Do you love it or hate it?

More Photos from 2011 Cheryl Cole Calendar

I gather that photos from Cheryl Cole’s 2011 calendar were leaking like tracks from a Lil Wayne album, earlier this month. The calendar’s cover and a few grainy stills were released as were one or two preview images from the full set.

Now, there are some further images that show most of the 2011 release, from which you’re probably not going to get Malaria-cooties (though, having said that, I do feel Malaria-ish, after looking at these). More, at your own risk, below…
