Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Red Carpet

I’m going to start this off by saying, no, I don’t know why Tyra Banks was at the premiere of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. Aside from the start of her latest ANTM cycle, I’m not even sure why she’s leaving the house. No one wants you, crazy eyes. NO ONE. Back to business. According to reports Michael Douglas, who reprises his role as Gordon Gekko of 1987′s Wall Street, was near silent at this NYC premiere. The 65-year-old actor is about halfway through his treatment for throat cancer. He was joined on the red carpet by his wife,  Catherine Zeta Jones. Also in attendance were supporting co-stars Carey Mulligan (who needs to stop making these faces), and Shia LaBeouf. Further pictures show Josh Brolin, Susan Sarandon, and Courtney Love (the above CAPS yelling applies to her too).

Angelina Jolie & Johnny Depp Both Look Pretty

Last week, we saw the first trailer for Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp’s new movie, The Tourist. It’s about Depp’s character being led astray by Jolie, whom he meets on holiday in Italy. Or something. I was distracted by Jolie’s accent. Anyways, here are the movie’s first stills showing the two leads in pictures we feel we spent all Summer long staring at. But, screw it. Let’s stare at them some more. And, then pay too much for some overpriced non-noisy candy/ drinks and stare at them in theatres. That’s what one does in the presence of the peculiarly pretty, is it not? I’m usually too busy trying to work out why the blank screen and opening adverts before the movie starts (my favourite bits) aren’t in 3D.

The Fighter Looks Appropriately Cracked Out

The Fighter (2010) trailer: stars Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, and Amy Adams.

We were all expecting this. Pretty much. Crack levels roughly equivalent to any one of my off days. Or, as I like to call them, ‘days’. After suffering through pictures of a sub-doable Christian Bale, all Summer long, here is the trailer for his new movie with Mark Wahlberg, The Fighter. The trailer, for the boxing movie, shows the two main actors joined by Amy Adams, who’s almost unrecognisable. I was hoping Bale would have the pleasure of acting his co-stars off the screen at least 50% of the time, perhaps with equal billing. But, he’s really in a supporting role and his main job seems to be ‘look disturbing and then turn to crack at some point in the film’. He does get to act the film’s male lead, Mark Wahlberg, off the screen in the scenes they share together; they’re brothers in the film and seem to share more screen time than anyone. Moreover, I’m of the personal opinion that Wahlberg’s a pretty offensively bad actor in just about everything I’ve seen him in other than The Basketball Diaries and The Departed. I mean, I’m embarrassed by his attempts at acting and his insistence on chewing on and spitting out every line. It drains me too much to pay him any attention. I’d rather spend the film watching Bale’s shaved off ‘receding’ hairline than Wahlberg hammy acting. Are you psyched? Whaddya think of the trailer?

Michael Douglas Hopes to Attend Red Carpet

Michael Douglas hopes to attend Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps premiere.

According to his publicist, cancer-stricken Michael Douglas is hoping he will be well enough for the premiere of his latest film. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, co-starring Shia LaBeouf, was postponed from its intended April 2010 release. Since that time, we’ve had the news that Douglas has a tumour in his throat, for which he sought treatment. When the sequel to Oliver Stone’s Wall Street (1987) has its premiere, next Monday, September 20, Douglas will be about halfway through an eight week treatment program of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. However, he’s apparently keen to walk the NYC red carpet and make his first public appearance since late August. ‘That’s the plan right now,’ his rep says. ‘But we’re literally going day-to-day as to know how much he can do. He would like to attend the premiere and show his support for the movie.’

Angelina Doing An Accent Again in The Tourist

The Tourist (2010) newly-released movie trailer: Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp.

Angelina Jolie is doing an impression of one of my more well-to-do neighbours, in her new movie The Tourist. In this trailer, video above, Jolie can be heard in the first few seconds doing her best ‘This is what foreign people sound like, amirite?’ accent. Oh, and Johnny Depp’s middle-aged unemployment beard is in this trailer also. I somehow forgot to mention that. Perhaps because he has multiple jobs and shouldn’t even have grown that thing in the first place.

People are royally creaming their panties over this trailer. I have to say I’ve only watched it in part, because I wasn’t that excited to learn of its release nor was I watching the movie being filmed (in candids) over the last few months. But, I gather some of you are. Other than share my booze, don’t say I never do anything for you. The Tourist is a remake of the French thriller of the same name; the movie stars Depp as an American tourist, in Italy, led astray by Jolie.

Justin Timberlake is Really Enjoying This Celery

Justin Timberlake is deep throating a piece of celery like he’s secretly auditioning for one of the more homoerotic supporting roles on True Blood. The singer, who’s labelled as an ‘actor’ by my picture agency because they have more faith in his ability to carry a movie despite his atrocious acting, can be seen in these pictures doing something about as interesting as picking one’s nose. And yet, I couldn’t stop staring at them. I mean, like, I didn’t even blink for an alarming amount of time after finding these… the same thing happened when I found photos of Shia The Beef testing his gag reflex with a banana. Pictures of Timberlake picking his crack, and eating, not in that order, below, on the set of Friends With Benefits while sitting next to director Will Gluck on September 13.
