Lady Gaga was photographed leaving a recording studio in New York City wearing her Born This Way jacket. The singer was almost fully-dressed. She wore her jacket with cowboy boots and pantyhose that served as legging. She didn’t actually happen to be wearing a shirt of any kind and instead exposed her bra. And she wore only panties under her sheer leggings. Because pants are for chumps. CHUMPS. There’s actually a better picture of the back of Gaga’s jacket, but I decided to show her butt cheeks fighting over who gets to ride shotgun.

Lady Gaga on Born This Way & Express Yourself
Lady Gaga on The Tonight Show discussing Born This Way and Express Yourself.
Lady Gaga was a guest on The Tonight Show. On last night’s show, wearing the same facial and shoulder prosthetics that grabbed headlines at the Grammys (yes, shoulder horns, those aren’t pads built into the garment), Gaga discussed Grammy night, her Vogue cover, the Born This Way single and Born This Way album and how they differ, the single’s music video which is coming ‘soon’, and whether Born To Vogue Yourself or whatever it’s called is intentionally derivative of Madonna’s work from the late 80s/ mid-90s. Gaga claims Madonna’s people have reached out to show their support and love the song. I guess Madonna doesn’t mind the comparisons. ‘There is really no one that is a more adoring or loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally.’ Then the singer told The Tonight Show audience that she received an e-mail from Madonna and her people, ‘sending their love and complete support on behalf of the single. And if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be.’ I guess that’s that.
A Born This Way/ Express Yourself mash-up is below for comparison. The video’s creator says they’ve matched pitch and speed to make any similarities clearer.
Lady Gaga Anderson Cooper Interview in Full
Lady Gaga’s 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper is below. Pictures of Gaga filming with Cooper in London last October are also below. She performed at the 2011 Grammys last night after arriving on the red carpet in an egg. The singer’s interview is part of her promotion for her new single Born This Way. She has been accused of ripping off Madonna’s Express Yourself, amongst other songs. And she was accused of stealing the single’s cover art from Kylie Minogue’s single, 2 Hearts. This interview was recorded months before those scandals. Gaga instead talks about sex, of course, and the genesis of her career.

Lady Gaga Born This Way Single Audio Released
Lady Gaga’s Born This Way single has been released. I’m torn. I bought The Fame Monster and it was pretty good in places. It was a keeper, that was for sure. But if this is an indication of what the Born This Way album is going to sound like, I’ve got nothing. The singer admitted she didn’t really spend any time on its creation, admitting in her Vogue interview that she wrote the song in 1o minutes. Upon hearing the track, Elton John declared it the ‘gayest ever’ that would replace ‘I Will Survive’ as the gay and straight anthems to people’s lives. I disagree. I tried to listen, and harder to tolerate the beat, but all I could hear was Express Yourself by Madonna and When Love Takes Over by David Guetta. Someone in the comment section of Jezebel.com (a site I’m also trying not to hate after its calamitous redesign) notes they hear undertones of Waterfalls by TLC. I’m not the only one to notice the Madonna comparison. The Express Yourself music video’s comments on YouTube are flooded with fans pointing out the similarities. The official Born This Way video from Gaga’s YouTube/VEVO is the same. People Magazine literally wrote an article entitled: ‘Does Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Sound like Madonna’s Express Yourself?’ noting that ‘ExpressYourself’ became a more popular topic than ‘bornthiswayfriday’, on Twitter, hours after the song’s release. Us Magazine wrote a piece entitled: ‘Is Lady Gaga’s Born This Way a Madonna Rip Off?’ Listen below. Is it good? Is it derivative? Yahoo Music goes into a deeper analysis and adds more comparisons.
Born This Way follows the blueprint for an early ’90s club hit remarkably carefully: keening strings on the first verse, a propulsive four-on-the-floor thump, layers of squelching synths, soulful vocals. We hear a bit of Kelly Rowland and David Guetta’s When Love Takes Over in here and some melody from TLC’s Waterfalls, but mostly it’s a hodge-podge of Madonna’s greatest hits: the chorus from Express Yourself, the glitter disco of Ray of Light, the spoken-word bridge from Vogue, there’s even a hint of Future Lovers from her 2005 disc Confessions on a Dance Floor in the last 10 seconds. Bits of the song [were] so reminiscent of Express Yourself, the name of the 1989 track [trended] on Twitter. [Yahoo Music]
As an aside, it’s also alleged Gaga copied the cover art from Kylie Minogue’s 2007 single 2 Hearts. That cover’s shown below, side-by-side, for comparison.
Lady Gaga Covers Vogue Magazine March 2011
Lady Gaga covers the March 2011 issue of Vogue. Earlier, all that had been released was a leaked preview of the singer’s cover for American Vogue. Now, the official cover, Gaga’s photo shoot, and her entire interview, have been released on Vogue.com. The cover looks better than in the preview. And the shoot’s more dynamic than I’d anticipated. It’s extremely elegant styling and captivating colours; of which I didn’t think Vogue was still capable after spending all of last month’s issue addressing the exact pointiness of Kristen Stewart’s chin. Vogue’s introduction of her is as astute as they managed with notes on Stewart’s aggravating swearing. They note one should, ‘Put aside for a moment that she often appears in public with no pants on, or that she performs part of her show covered in blood, or that she screams like Sam Kinison onstage, or that she says the F-word with metronomic consistency.’ Done. ‘In person, she is unfailingly polite and surprisingly dignified. She speaks in the clipped, proper diction that is often mistaken for a Madonna-like pretension but is in fact born of twelve years of attending Convent of the Sacred Heart, the oldest private girls’ school in Manhattan.’ Gaga discusses the man in her life, who’s introduced as her ‘boyfriend’, not her fiance. She then gives a very long interview about being ‘really f**king tired,’ the pressures of fame, her musical influences and more. Gaga is set to perform at Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Her new single, Born This Way, will be released on Friday. And her 60 Minutes interview will air on Sunday.
Lady Gaga Shares Born This Way Single Cover
Lady Gaga tweeted the cover for forthcoming single, Born This Way, from her album of the same name. The Born This Way single will be released this Friday February 11 (Gaga’s album will be released on May 23). It’s weird that I just realised I’ve not yet heard her song in full and nor do I intend to. Nor do I intend to buy the album despite owning The Fame Monster. Born This Way just didn’t seem to be my cup, after hearing a preview and her screeching it onstage at last year’s VMAs. Along with the message ‘Can’t wait any longer,’ because apparently all musicians have the patience of toddlers, she shared the single cover above.
