Kanye West Tweets Banned Album Cover Art

Kanye West took to his Twitter to share a picture of his cover art for the overwhelmingly-long titled My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The title, mocked by MTV News for sounding like ‘something a melodramatic 15-year-old girl would write in her dream journal’, is nothing compared to this version of the cover art.

In a tweet I would have shared three hours ago, when it was new, if my computer hadn’t become premenstrual and started $hitting fire at the same time, West said this cover was banned in the USA. I would guess, from his tweets, shown above in order, it wasn’t banned for the subject matter or T&A but because it was obnoxiously ugly. It’s less offensive for the beasts in bed than the toddler’s artwork and the lazy concept. I’d ban it because it’s not my cup, personally. I think it’s pretty tacky. Just MHO. But he used the word ‘banned’ in his tweet which got some people’s panties wet. Well, played, Kanye West. Well played.

Kanye West Announces Details for Fifth Album

Kanye West is on Twitter again. But, have no fear. You can come out of that crawl-space under your house saved for such emergencies. He’s only tweeting about his album. And, he’s using relatively cohesive and easy-to-understand sentences. Actually, since I can understand what he’s writing, I could swear it’s not even really him. Well, whomever is tweeting using mainly capital letters on West’s smashed ‘Berry, has revealed the full title for West’s fifth album, previously mainly referred to as Dark Twisted Fantasy. Basically, the full name is My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy; a title lambasted by MTV Newsroom for its lack of punctuation, lack of imagination, and sounding ‘like something a melodramatic 15-year-old girl would write in her dream journal’. The first song on the album will be Dark Fantasy, produced by The Rza and co-produced by West and No I.D.. His recent G.O.O.D. Fridays track also will make the album. West had previously tweeted that the album would be released on November 22.

Kanye West Performs Runaway & Power on SNL

Kanye West Saturday Night Live Power and Runaway performance video.

Kanye West has been allowed back on live television after behaving himself at this year’s VMAs. It’s nice to see he can be let off his short leash to perform and not screw things up. Actually, by all accounts, the rapper killed it with his two performances on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live as broadcast Saturday September 2, 2010. West performed the first single from Dark Twisted Fantasy, formerly entitled Good Ass Job, as well as his follow-up single Runaway. Y’all didn’t seem to know what the heck to make of the preview for that video. Nor did I. But, the song itself is passable. Both songs are shown in the video.

Kanye West Previews 40 Minute Runaway Video

Kanye West has released a preview for his forthcoming video, his overcompensation for the 2-minute-long Power video. That was such a little piece of video that I initially thought I was watching an overlong preview in itself; some kind of precursor to this type of near hour-long self-indulgent clusterf**k. It wasn’t. It was a two-minute-long video that ended the second it reached any kind of crescendo in one of the  biggest musical anti-climaxes I’ve ever experienced. Hopefully this will fare better. Above is a preview of West’s upcoming 40-minute-long music mini-movie, Runaway. Its actual release should coincide with the release of Dark Twisted Fantasy, his re-named album.

Kanye West to Perform at Video Music Awards

Kanye West revealed on Twitter that he is returning to the Video Music Awards, after screwing over Taylor Swift back in 2009. The over-excitable rapper, as you may remember, stormed the stage and snatched a microphone off the singer. He was booed and publicly chastised… for altogether too long. He’s back with new music and is probably going to perform his single, Power, the music video for which was so confusing/ odd I couldn’t stop convulsing long enough to post it.

KANYE WEST IS A TWITTER USER NOW. OKAY?!

Sorry for all those caps, I couldn’t resist the urge to throw a few superfluous CAPS and punctuation marks up there… in order to announce that Kanye West has officially joined Twitter. The reason I’m bothering to point this out, is West has been the victim of quite a number of imposter accounts over the years; people who’ve broken fake news and spread rumours using accounts that weren’t even affiliated with him. West had grown so annoyed, with being asked about Twitter all the time (he’s an enthusiastic CAPS-blogger, so it was a logical question to be honest), that he pretty much said Twitter was stupid and that he’d never join. I guess he realised what a great tool it is, as he’s taken over the @KanyeWest Twitter user name (in a similar way to Angelina Jolie with her username).

In May 2009, West said that there was no reason for him to use Twitter… he was too busy to use it… there were too many fakes that annoyed him… etc..

But, this is real (and Verified), as he announced on the Kanye University blog.

The Kanye West Twitter at Twitter.com/KanyeWest has been open for 10 hours and has already got nearly 175,000 followers. He’s listed 2,200 times. He’s not following anyone as yet. He’s been tweeting enthusiastically and says he wishes he’d started tweeting sooner. He’s already shared the news that his album is being re-named; per the screen cap, it’s no longer called God Ass Job. Which is great, as I don’t need to know how good his ass-jobs are. One thing: someone needs to teach him how to @ people. He’s tweeting a bunch of links about different blogs and accidentally @ing random people by not typing out names in the correct way (I think he’s yet to realise what a mis-step that is).

In the gallery are his first ever Tweet photos, of a jet he was about to fly on.
