Kanye West took to his Twitter to share a picture of his cover art for the overwhelmingly-long titled My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The title, mocked by MTV News for sounding like ‘something a melodramatic 15-year-old girl would write in her dream journal’, is nothing compared to this version of the cover art.
In a tweet I would have shared three hours ago, when it was new, if my computer hadn’t become premenstrual and started $hitting fire at the same time, West said this cover was banned in the USA. I would guess, from his tweets, shown above in order, it wasn’t banned for the subject matter or T&A but because it was obnoxiously ugly. It’s less offensive for the beasts in bed than the toddler’s artwork and the lazy concept. I’d ban it because it’s not my cup, personally. I think it’s pretty tacky. Just MHO. But he used the word ‘banned’ in his tweet which got some people’s panties wet. Well, played, Kanye West. Well played.
