As I mentioned along with the teasers about Keira Knightley’s Coco Mademoiselle commercial, the full thing was on its way. It’s arrived, as posted to the Chanel YouTube channel. It’s being called the Chanel ‘film,’ though that’s reaching with it being 3:20 long. I guess they mean the way that ad from a few years back with Nicole Kidman for the same brand was a ‘short film.’ Okay, sure. It’s sweeping, cinematic, and those involved, male and female, look … pretty. Equally so, IMO.

Zooey Deschanel Photoshopped for New Advert
Because everyone needs a brand of lipstick that can give them a digital nose job and jawline hand-drawn in MS Paint, Rimmel cosmetics has released this advert for their latest product. Starring someone who once passed for Zooey Deschanel, the above Rimmel advert is for some crap called Lasting Finish Lipstick (all cosmetics names sound like a string of adjectives selected in a Mad-Lib, to me). Well, in any case, the brand has committed Photoshop treason of the highest order by evening out and altering the shape of Deschanel’s eyes, narrowing her nose, lengthening her neck, and it would seem, drawing in her entire chin and jawline by hand (there’s something off about her lips too, but I can’t think what). While I look for Deschanel’s jaw, see below for what she really looks like.
Emma Watson’s Androgynous Lancome Shoot
Lancome really isn’t playing around with the idea of using Emma Watson’s new-found androgyny for their commercial. As I mentioned yesterday, the 20-year-old hasn’t been able to catch a break after cutting off the hair she’s been contract-bound to grow the entire time filming Harry Potter. She’s recently been named the new face of Lancome and can be seen in these images as she shoots her commercial for the cosmetics brand in Paris. By the look of it, the advert will be about an extremely fancy 12-year-old boy who’s experimenting with the contents of his mother’s closet. Watson’s shirt, tie, hat, and blazer are teamed with heels only to make sure the other schoolboys know whose mother has the best footwear on the block. Ther are additional pictures of an evening look, below, where she looks her age and sex. In one she’s standing next to photographer Mario Testino, who’s telling her how to stand and pose for a shot.

Emma Watson Named New Face of Lancome
Emma Watson has her priorities straight. The 20-year-old Harry Potter star, whose last great decision was cutting all her hair only to learn no one in Hollywood knows about wigs and so she had to grow back her hair in order to be cast again (because people were skipping her for parts), has been named the face of Lancome. This wouldn’t be news, except another great decision was putting her studies on hold in order to promote her franchise. Watson hinted on Twitter that she’d scored some cosmetics deal. ‘This Pretty Woman was their latest recruit,’ she said, followed by ‘It starts with an L and ends with an E. I’m sure you have guessed the new face of Lancome is me.’ Shortly after, the company confirmed the news that Watson would be the college dropout face of their brand. I’m not sure I’m understanding the logic of leaving school, even temporarily, in order to dedicate more time to career pursuits, when this is it. She’s young enough it doesn’t really matter (unlike Tyra Banks who, by comparison, only enrolled at Harvard Business School last year, at age 36, after beginning her career at 17). But, surely a cosmetics contract isn’t really a great excuse for missing vital Beer Pong (you can only really get good if you practise).
Teaser For Keira Knightley Chanel Commercial
Keira Knightley is the face of Chanel and has been for several years (not that I follow fashion, as the entire idea of fashion lends itself to the scary world outside my front door and ever having to wear something other than feety pyjamas and fluffy house shoes). Well, anyway, I gather people who aren’t me wear clothes suitable for outdoors and as such dress up every now and then. Those fancy, showin’ off b*tches may be interested in these teasers for the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle 2011 campaign. There were a bunch of her adverts released a few days ago, and those are below. There’s also now a teaser for the commercial that can be found below and gives an idea of the whole thing. The commercial seems to be in line with the print ads and makes a fairly bland but still elegant statement. Assuming chewing on the side of a perfume bottle, removing one’s clothing and instead opting for a bed sheet, is considered universally elegant.
Kate Winslet Looks Different In Lancome’s Ads
Kate Winslet is the face of Lancome as everyone needs to be the face and shoulderblades of some brand or another, lest they live a life unfulfilled. The 35-year-old was shot by Mario Testino for the Lancome commercial below and these print adverts for the same campaign. It’s being noted by the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper, and others, that Winslet’s been altered quite heavily for the print campaign. I’ve always thought she was pretty anyway and carried herself with a certain elegance I’ve also always liked in Keira Knightley (who’s got new Chanel ads and a commercial, incidentally). Well, anyway, because they had a side-by-side, I thought you’d like to see the before and after of Lancome’s arguably heavy-handed airbrushing of the mother-of-two. The main complaint about these ads seems to be the spokesmodel’s silence on the adjustments to her look; in 2003, she was very vocal about being made thinner by GQ and I guess she’s now obliged to write a strongly-worded letter every time a third-party with whom she’s affiliated takes the decision to alter an image out of her hands.
