Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco is no longer engaged to marry addiction specialist Josh Resnik. Cuoco announced her engagement in October, at which time her rep confirmed: ‘The surprise proposal took place during a quiet date night at home. The couple are very happy and excited to begin planning their wedding.’ However, this week, Cuoco told ET: ’I'm not engaged anymore.’
Jessica Biel has reportedly been talking about her engagement on set. Us Weekly claims that Biel, engaged to Justin Timberlake according to his grandmother, talked openly about her engagement while filming New Year’s Eve to its director Garry Marshall. ‘We talk about [the engagement] a lot. I hope it all works out, they are terrific kids,’ Marshall told Us Weekly at Sunday’s Night of 100 Stars Gala. ‘I love them both. It would appear that Natalie Portman and the Black Swan K-Fed, with whom she became preggo shortly before last year’s Best Actress Academy Award win, announced their marriage on the 2012 Oscars red carpet (in front of over one billion viewers). I didn’t notice during my photo editing, and this kind of thing usually goes over my head until the marriage certificate leaks to TMZ.com, but the couple were wearing what appeared to be wedding rings in addition to Portman’s engagement ring. People and Us Weekly both point out that Portman wore a new band, in addition to her engagement ring, on the red carpet and on stage. And Benjamin Millepied also wore a ring on the correct finger. Included are Portman’s prom-looking red chiffon silk Christian Dior Couture dress and BSFK.
There were reports over the weekend that Jessica Biel wore her fabled engagement ring to the Saturday Night Live after-party. I ignored the reports under the assumption that pictures would follow. Except, it’s 48-hours later and no one has any grainy, ill-gotten images of Biel’s bedazzled ring finger. Biel wore the ring. And, adds a source who I guess doesn’t own a cell, the couple were ‘very lovey. Holding hands. They kissed a few times in front of the crew.’
Halle Berry is engaged again, adding to her collection of two failed marriages and a baby daddy. Berry’s really not so good at this and she’s not so great at picking the best men. She seems to fall quickly for whomever she’s dating at the time and find marriage the inevitable end to every relationship. She’s like the less-annoying Jennifer Lopez, but with a slightly-better track record. Us Weekly claims to have the exclusive on this, although the engagement didn’t make their cover (last week’s Biel/ Timberlame engagement makes the cover when it wasn’t compelling enough to cover when it was relevant). Us Weekly and this week’s Star only have source information, and People.com got some convoluted confirmation from a rep for jewellery designer Gurhan, who designed the ring; her boyfriend-of-a-year proposed, and gave her an emerald engagement ring of which there are photos above. Sources tell Us Weekly: ‘[Halle] had given up on being married, but she trusts Olivier. He makes her feel safe. He’s a keeper!’ Sources for Star claim: ‘Halle is very serious about this marriage. She’s ready. Olivier has become her rock. Halle feels Olivier has made a connection and a commitment to her and her daughter… Halle would love to have more kids, but she knows it might be difficult because of her age and the fact that she’s diabetic. If they can’t conceive, they’d definitely consider adoption. Deciding to marry again is huge for Halle. But friends have never seen her this happy and fulfilled.’ She’s been wearing her ring since around January 3, photos below.
There were reports yesterday in Us Weekly that I noted on my FB I’d ignore because, if true, they’d become evident soon enough. Moreover, I actually read Us Weekly’s report and there was no confirmation or announcement; just a rehash of information from two-weeks ago and a few, vague, source accounts. Their sources recounted the location of the proposal, which we knew already, adding: ‘When they reunited, they had a conversation about taking the next step. [He's] never been happier. He knew it was the right time to propose.’ The proposal didn’t even make the cover, since it was two-weeks ago, Katy Perry’s divorce did. So I’ve been reading around waiting for actual confirmation with a little more substance and I didn’t have to wait very long, Timberlame’s abuelita confirmed the engagement to RadarOnline.com (who appear to have the only legit, exclusive confirmation). Sadie Bomar says: ‘Yes, Justin is engaged. Jessica is a very sweet girl, she’s upright and everything and we love her. She’s a wonderful campaigner for the environment and Justin is too, a fine young man. Jessica will be a lovely member of the family. They don’t know if the wedding will be in Memphis or Colorado, it’s all very new they haven’t made any plans yet. Justin, his mom and dad and Jessica have all been in Montana all Christmas and New Year, that’s when he proposed. Justin rang me himself on Christmas day to tell me about the engagement. You know Justin he’s a very laid back he was excited but he don’t make a big episode out of anything. It just seemed like the right time for him I guess. Justin loves me and I love him too, he’s a big part of my life. I don’t know all the details yet but we just love Jessica and the whole family is happy for him. Now we have a lovely wedding to look forward to.’
