Mel Gibson’s wife, Robyn, has filed for divorce from the actor, after 28 years of what (from the outside) had looked like a pretty happy marriage. They are citing irreconcilable differences for their split.

The pair tied the knot back in 1980, before Mel’s net worth shot up to an impressive $900 million. They didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement, which means community property including earnings should be divided 50/50. The couple has seven children together, but only one of them is a minor (Tom is 10 years old) and therefore Robyn is seeking joint physical and legal custody and asking for spousal support and attorney fees.

Through their publicist, Alan Nierob, they released this statement, ”Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so.”

I guess I should have seen this coming, when there were rumours of another woman a while ago. But, the old-school Hollywood gang are all for duking it out and staying together, so I really thought no more about it.

UK train-wreck, often referred to by PerezHilton.com as the British Britney (head shave era), Kerry Katona, really is getting a divorce.

The former singer started a host of rumours last week when she changed her Facebook status from “Married” to “Single”. Some thought it a genuine error, while others thought she was telling the world that she was splitting from her husband, former cab driver, Mark Croft. 

Katona has revealed that the split and the situation between her and her current husband are far worse than first thought. She says that he has essentially been stealing money from her and that she has lost trust in the marriage and so wants to call it quits.

The pair had a huge row over their finances. Katona is the breadwinner and since her singing career ended she has kept herself, her husband (who she employed as her driver) and her children afloat with various magazine deals and TV appearances and more than one reality show. 

The star reportedly thinks Croft’s been swindling her after she discovered he’d paid £455,000 into his Modena Developments firm without her knowing. A source revealed ”He stuck it under her nose and said: ‘Here you go, we’ve got the money. So just stop bloody worrying about it” ”All of Kerry’s earnings are paid to her company KK Media, and she had no idea how such a sum came to be in Modena’s account. It shook her faith in Mark badly and she asked him to leave.”

Katona has also reportedly told friends ”This has to end. Mark’s bled me dry. He won’t take another penny of my money.”

According to MrPaparazzi.com, earlier today Katona appeared on the driveway of her home with her accountant (yep), who read a statement to the press about her split from her husband Croft. 

In the statement Frank Cochran, from company Celebrity Financial Planning, announced that he’s been appointed as her new financial adviser, and then he went on to say “Miss Katona has been very upset by the breakdown of her marriage to Mark Croft and as a consequence she has asked for independent financial advice. Miss Katona has appointed our company to answer all enquiries re her finances. We will be working to remove her bankruptcy order ASAP. If anyone has any information considered useful I would appreciate them contacting me at their earliest convenience.”

This woman is a serial train-wreck, but I was hoping this time she had really found love. Such sad news for Kerry.

Sarah Jessica Parker is said to be worried about the payout from her pending divorce  [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

The TV and film star is reportedly in a marriage that has seen better days, but she is hanging on, in order to ensure her financial security.

According to Look Magazine (via China Daily):

Sarah Jessica Parker is terrified a divorce will leave her penniless.

The ‘Sex and the City’ actress – whose 11-year marriage to actor Matthew Broderick is reportedly on the rocks following allegations he cheated on her with a 25-year-old beauty – is giving her relationship another go because she doesn’t want to lose the multi-million pound fortune she has accumulated.

A source told Look magazine: “Sarah’s family were poor when she was a child. She had seven brothers and sisters and she’s often talked about missing out on birthday presents when she was young.

“It seems she’s freaking out over the thought that Matthew could walk away with an enormous sum of money.”

It was recently reported the couple – who have a six-year-old son James Wilkie together – are leading separate lives.

They put a united front on over the festive period for the sake of James, but their Christmas truce is said to have caused further cracks in their relationship.
