A magazine cover showing a nude supermodel is causing controversy in Australia right now. But not for the reasons you might think. It’s not the national allergy to T&A that’s got folks over there upset. It’s the fact that the cover for February 2010 Marie Claire Australia features Miss Universe 2004, Jennifer Hawkins, without any kind of photoshopping. No one needs panties, but apparently we all need to be airbrushed. It’s another of those magazine issues, for which the well-meaning aim is to make regular women feel a little better about their cellulite. Except that the cover girl still doesn’t have any. Skinny women with no flaws, but for the misfortune of having to sit in bad lighting with a smattering of insignificant dimples and creases, don’t make us regular folks feel any better.
