Aside from getting to have cosy time with Charlize Theron, it must suck to be Stuart Townsend right now. According to two sources who spoke anonymously to The Huffington Post, Townsend has been ditched from Marvel’s Thor movie.
The film, you may be interested to know, starts filming today. Townsend was reportedly dropped from the production, in which he was due to play Fandral, an ally of Norse god Thor (whatever that means), because of creative differences. Whenever I hear about those dreaded creative differences, I always assume it’s over money. He totally deserves to be paid in legal tender and not in his weight in Marvel comics. He’s not exactly expecting A-list fees. Pay the man his dough.

Something major must’ve happened for him to be booted off the day before they’re set to start filming, like he wasn’t in good enough shape or a scheduling conflict or something. It’ll be intersting to find out what actually happened.
Norse gods are viking gods (to put it as simply as possible without going into a whole mythology lesson…lol) Thor is somekind of hybrind of the myth and a bit of super hero stuff, if I remember right. Never was a fan of the comic, but I remember that little girl from Adventures in Babysitting was obsessed with him…lol
Oops – thought I responded to this already. Meant to say thanks for the explanation about the plot. That does make a lot more sense.
Also, yeah – there has to be more to this story. I think either it was a pay dispute or creative differences. We shall see…
