One of the women at the centre of the David Letterman extortion case is named Stephanie Birkitt.
Stephanie Birkitt was, according to the Huffington Post and TMZ, David Letterman’s former assistant on the Late Show and she made several guest appearances. She was also Letterman’s lover for a period of time. More worryingly, until recently, she lived with the man who allegedly tried to extort $2 million out of Letterman, Robert Joe Halderman.
According to a source who spoke to TMZ, Letterman and Birkitt were having an affair that ended in 2003, before his son Harry was born. Birkitt was possibly one of several female employees that Letterman had a sexual affair with.
