Turns out that SNL’s satirical parody of Sarah Palin is NBC’s most watched viral video ever .
The Palin spoof even spanked the previous most popular viral video - Justin Timberlake’s “Dick in a Box” - achieving five times more views!
This is partly due to NBC’s hardcore efforts to keep the video off of YouTube, which they didn’t do with “Junk”.
According to Hollywood Reporter:
Tina Fey’s “Saturday Night Live” spoof of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday that gave NBC.com its most-watched viral video ever. The video not only topped past favorites like “D— in a Box” and “Lazy Sunday,” but managed to outdo copies uploaded to YouTube.
Fey’s mimicry of Palin has been a barnburner for NBC.com, garnering 5.7 million views as of Wednesday, according to internal NBC data. That is far and away the most popular video on the site, easily exceeding second-place finisher “Box,” which collected just over 1 million views on NBC.com.
When I posted it earlier this week, it blew my site stats right the f*ck up.
My ickle blog-ling is only 6 weeks old, too new to really get 4 figures per-day on a regular basis, but this post has gotten around 2,000+ views on its own and is my most emailed story to date.
Over the weekend at Amy Grindhouse, at least one person was reading or emailing the story, for every few minutes of the day – oh yeah and THANKS to everyone who viewed/ shared it!

Ditto on the hilarity! She got everything down perfectly from the nostril flaring to the weird thing Sarah Palin does by protruding her lower jaw a tad and pressing her tongue against her teeth, weird!
