Terrible vocal artists of the world, rejoice, Simon Cowell has just announced that he intends to leave the American Idol judging panel, as of next year.
Cowell also judges Britain’s Got Talent and the UK’s The X Factor. He commutes between the US and the UK four times a week during the American Idol season. In addition, he is a music mogul with his own record label and television production firm.
It’s no surprise then, that the reality star says he is desperate to step away from A.I. to cut down on his punishing schedule.
“I don’t want to come over as whiny because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs. But there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up. It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them, and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows…” Cowell told reporters for the Daily Express last week.
“Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of travelling. One may have to go. I don’t know which one. That is the problem, I like all of them. I can’t imagine not doing Britain’s Got Talent and I can’t imagine not doing X Factor . But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end,” he added.

Awww. It sounds like this is a tough decision for him. I wish him the best and I hope American Idol goes with him cause it wouldn’t be the same.
It’ll be all nicey, nicey and not worth watching any more without him cussing out over-excitable 16-year olds.
hmmm…all the talk was that they brought in Kara to replace Paula, when it may be that she’s there to replace Simon. Talk about pulling the woold over our eyes…lol
Actually, he may be getting out at the right time. The show is getting a bit long in the tooth and if it makes it that far, won’t be long for the air afterwards. Simon is what really drives the show, though, so with him leaving, they maight as well shut it down. Who’s gonna replace him? Ryan Seacrest? lmao
Maybe, that Kara girl is feisty. I’d stopped watching and so had forgotten about her. The show is dying a slow death, and a lot of the audience have been watching for Simon since the beginning.
