Hey, glad you did stumble on me and you are always welcome to come over/ chat and hang out.

The people above are so indicative of the obsession with the everyday person who makes fame their goal in life. For example, (though I cannot remember the exact study) a study here in the UK said the majority of tweenage girls want to be a celebrity when they grow up. Not have any kind of real vocation, just to be famous.

There is no longer a concept of studying and walking the traditional well-worn path.

Lastly, the site name was one of a few hundred I chewed over before creating this site. I’d made and deleted/ conceptualised and gotten bored of about 20 sites, before I made and grew the site you see today. The name just kind of stuck and virtually everyone I come a cross has a reaction to it. Guess I chose well! (Please feel free to take your cap off now).

I love how our culture’s obsession with “fame” is bringing out all the idiots… teens who put up photos of themselves using drugs on their MySpace, ditto photos of themselves naked, people who video and then YouTube their acts of vandalism, violating every traffic law in a 20-mile radius, physical/sexual assault, etc…

This couple and the wonderfully divorced-from-reality Nadya Suleman, going as public as she can possibly get with all the fallout she’s going to experience once her “disability”/unemployment/food stamps etc claims are all thoroughly investigated (not to MENTION the child-safety issues), are shining examples of people who want to be “famous” so badly that they completely lose what little minds they had.

By the way, I have to tell you: I feel SO. DUMB. right now. Although I first found the site shortly after the Rihanna/Chris Brown thing, and have been checking back sporadically, it was only about 15 minutes ago that the “Amy Grindhouse/Amy Winehouse” connection finally clicked. And I ::heart:: Amy Winehouse, so I really should have picked up on that sooner.

I’ll just sit here with my dunce cap on for a bit, then… (c:
