Serena Williams was the subject of controversy during a match this weekend.
She was taking part in the Saturday 12 September 2009 US Open Semi-Finals. The athlete was accused of a foot fault during the game and she began to scream at the lines woman, Kim Clijsterst.
The people on the sidelines thought Williams made a death threat. She didn’t. However, her comments were aggressive and made people feel physically threatened. That, along with the alleged foot fault (that was later found not to have happened after the video was reviewed) got Williams disqualified.
Williams attended the US Open Semi-Finals Press Conference after losing the game. She sounded, some thought, less than contrite about the matter. Seems this was the weekend for ill-thought out and still aggressive apologies. Williams showed the class of woman she is and once again took the time to explain herself. This time to her fans, via her official Twitter page.

Serena Williams made a mistake when she had the outburst and I respect her for being woman enough to admit her faults.
