Sandra Bullock has revealed two huge secrets in the latest issue of People. The Oscar-winning actress first revealed, with a People cover photo, that she adopted a baby boy and she plans to raise three-and-a-half-month old son Louis Bardo Bullock as a single mother. She has also confirmed, in the same issue, that she has filed for divorce from cheating hubby Jesse James. It’s a celebrity twofer!
“Yes, I have filed for divorce,” the actress, 45, tells People in the latest issue, in which she also reveals she has adopted a son, 3½-month-old Louis. A rep confirms the star filed legal papers seeking to end her marriage, but declines to specify in what jurisdiction they are filed. Says Bullock of her decision to divorce: “I’m sad and I am scared.” [People]
I saw this one coming. It’s great she has enough self-esteem to not take the Elin Nordegren route of dragging this crap out (divorce the guy or not, it’s not that hard). However, I didn’t foresee the Angelina Jolie stealth Black baby adoption.
UPDATE: It has been revealed that Sandra Bullock filed for divorce April 23, 2010, in Travis County Court in Austin, Texas. The reason it went unnoticed is Bullock filed under her initials (which were backward as B.A.S.) and James’ initials including his middle name. The papers say that the marriage broke down and is not fixable, and they ceased to live together as husband and wife.
As for grounds of divorce, the petition says, “The marriage between Petitioner and Respondent has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectations of reconciliation.” According to the petition, the parties were married in 2005 “and have ceased to live together as husband and wife.” [TMZ]
