Salma Hayek’s email account was hacked and her email address leaked online.
Rather than hack into the scandalous emails of Britney Spears or Hohan, the people of online bulletin board 4Chan broke into Hayek’s (!?!!?).
They claimed the break in was really rather easy; merely a matter of knowing some basic information about the star and then guessing her password. They then reset the account and released screen shots to be viewed by all and sundry.
Breaking into the account was a simple matter of knowing Hayek’s birthday – September 2 – and guessing at her security word (they claim it was the name of her best known movie role) to reset the account’s password. Public-records searches show that the 323-area-code phone number Hayek listed in a sent email belongs to the actress.
The glimpses into Hayek’s life revealed by her inbox are fascinating, even if mundane: The stranger-suckling actress has been invited to America Ferreira’s 25th birthday party. She downloads a bunch of iPhone applications from the iTunes App Store — and she gets spam from Apple, just like the rest of us.
As for the perks of being famous, a driver was scheduled to meet her flight arriving in Abu Dhabi. American Express has given her a new Gold card. (What, she doesn’t rate the exclusive black Centurion Card?) Balenciaga and Stella McCartney deliver designer clothes to her apartment. She schedules “Japanese face massages.” And she gets scans of stories about her in the celebrity weeklies. (via Gawker)

They are from the star’s (presumably now defunct, so eff it) email address “shayek@mac.com” and appear to be genuine – I cannot even imagine the number of people who are going to be mailing her right now.
They give away part of her home and cell numbers, as well as obscured credit card details from when she shopped online. I bet she is totally peed off right now. Daymn.

Hackers suck and they’re so good at what they do! I wish her emails said that she’s in a fuckship with Penelope Cruz.

ok…it’s no secret that i love salma hayek (and those hot air balloons she smuggles under everythign hse wears…lol) but to sit around hacking the woman’s account is just plain wrong. what pimple faced horn bastard who can;t get enough hot pockets in his mother’s basement did this? they need to be drug ut into the street and beat by Salma’s lover, Penelope Cruz…lol
The odd thing is they made it sound as easy as getting into their own- like it was an everyday thing. Cruz needs to open p a can of spicy whoop-azz!
