Peaches Geldof needs to have her Crackberry confiscated. The British socialite, daughter of Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof, wrote a tweet on Monday saying that Miley Cyrus died. I dislike the singing chipmunk as much as the next person, but even I don’t tweet death rumours without some damn fact-checking first. Geldof said in her tweet that a friend sent her a text message. It was a text not, a sext, so I don’t blame her for not reading the whole thing. The message said that Cyrus had passed away, aged only 17. This is of course utter nonsense, but that didn’t stop Geldof spreading the rumours to her 65,000 plus fans.
She later said sorry, that she was mistaken, and didn’t mean to cause distress. Cyrus is alive and well and set to return to the UK shortly for an 02 Arena performance, one that set a record for biggest attendance ever at the venue.

Ok, that’s pretty funny. I have to give Peaches a point for that one.
I think she should have seen it coming – I saw the Brittany Murphy rumours on Twitter, but didn’t post them til I did some freakin’ digging.
Seems like an intentional prank; not an innocent rumor passing. THAT is why I’m giving Peaches a point.
Ah – I see. That’s what The Mirror article I linked to says as well. Like she was spreading a nasty prank. Um, I wasn’t giving her credit for being that intelligent
To quote Whoopi Goldgerg: “You see, this is how shit gets started.”
Er…GOLDBERG. Been hittin the wassail.
Liquor is the best part of this depressing time of year.
Indeed – it’s lucky the rumour went no further.
