Patrick Swayze, the popular actor best known for his roles in Dirty Dancing and Ghost, has died at 57 after losing his 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
The actor’s death has been confirmed on both TMZ and MSNBC and so unlike the malicious rumours from earlier in the year, this time reports of Swayze’s death appear to be true. This is sad news and many of his fans will be in shock and in mourning tonight. The star was thought to have been making some progress toward recovery, in late July 2009 he was spotted out and about looking noticeably more full in the face and healthy.
In addition to news reports, the death was confirmed by the star’s publicist. The publicist has told the media that Swayze died with his family at his side.
