Mrs & Mrs DeGeneres – Ellen & Portia Have Wed

Ellen DeGeneres and her partner of three-and-a-half years Portia de Rossi got married today [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

Ellen, 50, and Portia, 35, who have been dating since December 2004, tied the knot in front of 19 guests during an intimate ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills, California, Saturday night.

The pair look P.I.M.P. in their wedding pictures (click below).

They are clearly a couple who are very much in love and took the day to both look Divine and scream Foook it! to their detractors and haters.

This is one couple, in whom I have some faith. I think they will be one of the few Hollywood couples who go the distance.

I don’t see them breaking up in 6 months time for some BS reason like ‘busy schedules’, do you?

According to JustJared:

Portia wore a backless, light pink dress, while Ellen opted for pants, button-up shirt and vest — all in white. Both wore Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane.

According to People:

The intimate ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres’s mom Betty and de Rossi’s mother Margaret Rogers (who flew in from Australia for the occasion), who witnessed the couple exchange handwritten vows.

Howdy y’all!

I just wanted to let you know quite far in advance that I will be taking this blog from Blogger to WordPress this afternoon. That means that if you can see this notice I am fiddling around behind the scenes and making the move.

This site MAY BE DOWN any time between (now) late Friday and say, Monday 18 Aug.


Sorry if the site looks wonky while you are reading, or it seems to disappear altogether. I have to do lots of admin-y stuff to get up and running on a new platform, which may take the site down for a little while at a time .

But don’t worry… I am a blogging addict and I will miss my fix as much as you do! The site should be up and running, fully functional and on WordPress by 18 Aug.

Russell Brand gave the interview below to Defamer. I feel it is my duty to share this with you, as it is a LOL of epic and earth-shaking proportions [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

I read this while at work and it was breathtakingly funny. It even made me laugh out loud, while I was totally s’posed to be working.

Brand, you are my new hero! This interview is perfection. I hereby declare this the ‘EPIC LOL of 2008′.

In brief, the premise of the interview was to quiz Brand on his knowledge of American culture, prior to his appearance on the MTV VMA’s.

DEFAMER: Right now, we’re all wondering what was up with this Christian Bale assault case, and maybe you can explain it to me. Apparently in the UK, you can go to jail for verbal assault? What’s up with that?RUSSELL: In England, we have such good manners that if someone says something impolite, the police will get involved. Christian Bale, I believe whilst in a restaurant, rolled his eyes at the lighting. That is an offense punishable by five years in prison in the United Kingdom. I admire Christian Bale and I think he’s one of the greatest living actors on the planet currently, but we cannot shirk when it comes to good manners. If it’s true that he also dropped a napkin on his way to the lavatory, then I think that he should possibly receive the death penalty.

DEFAMER: Lastly, I want to know your thoughts on the most important issue of our time…

RUSSELL: Yes.

DEFAMER: …Brad and Angelina just had the twins.

RUSSELL: Thank God. The thing is that they’re both so stupidly beautiful and good-looking and attractive that their children are born looking gorgeous! It’s unsettling. That first one they had, she had sort of a Marilyn Monroe mouth. I don’t think they should breed, those two people. I think their adoption policy is probably better because when their genes come together, it creates a storm of attractiveness so potent that it could one day bring down the planet. [...] No one needs that on a baby! No one needs a baby with eight-inch-long eyelashes.

Lindsay Lohan has used her MySpace blog to shut down rumours that her 14-year-old sister, Ali, has had a boob job [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

She says:

All i am trying to say is, is that, i was raised with a wonderful family surrounding me, of course we have our ups and downs, but all in all my mother taught us to appreciate what we have been given.Nor would she ever encourage, or allow a 14 year old child to alter her body.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is still under the impression that anybody cares about her weight [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

She went-a-belly-aching to US Weekly and did a cover, showing off how tiny she is… when she was kinda tiny anyway.

After a public beating for ‘being fat‘, Hewitt hit back with the retort ‘size two is not fat!‘. However, she has clearly made the decision that it would be a great idea to publicise her own hypocrisy, by slimming down drastically and then being featured in a magazine.

According to DListed:

JLove told the magazine, “I am in a pretty good workout regimen that I like, so it inspired me to keep it up. The energy level and the way I feel now is great.” She claims she only lost the weight because she wanted to feel better and not because of the mean things people said about her.

MollyGood pipes in with:

The actress claims she lost 18 pounds, but we have a hard time believing that.

Christian Bale Let Off With Caution

Christian Bale is being let of of his assault charge with a warning [Website – Amy Grindhouse].

Bale, who was questioned by police because of an alleged verbal smack down on his own mother, has been let off with a police caution.

As I am aware that many of you reading this are non U.K. based, just so you know, verbal assault (threatening by shouting/ cussing etc., with intention to intimidate – broadly speaking) is against the law in England. Yes, really.

According to the Sun, Bale will get a slap on the wrist, as long as he admits guilt when he answers bail in September.
