Nadya Sulema, the new mother of baby octuplets and a total brood of 14 children, told the press she is “good” and that her children are all very well – despite a week of media scrutiny [Website – Amy Grindhouse].
OctoMum or as I prefer to call her OctoPussy - Nadya Suleman – told reporters for US Weekly that she was very well and so was her family despite the media backlash they faced last week. Suleman had reportedly been getting a hard time from the mainstream media and the general public alike and has had to endure insignificant acts like people questioning her mothering ability, up to more serious matters like being sent death threats.
“I’m OK, and the babies are good,” she told US magazine outside her home in Whittier, Calif., Friday afternoon. “I’m going to see the babies. I have lots to do.”
Police are said to be reporting the threats against Suleman and they are also providing her with advice on how to handle the abusive messages people keep leaving for her. This is in light of nasty emails in particular being sent hundreds at a time, because people are pissed the single mother of 14 is receiving food stamps and other public money to look after her children (some of her older children have disabilities and receive Government aid for this). That funding is in addition to any gifts and donation solicited through the family website.
Suleman is living in an undisclosed location and spends time with her kids every day. The octuplets are expected to remain in the hospital for several more weeks.
