‘My Name Is Earl’ got cancelled. The show has officially been pulled by NBC.
NBC has officially told the cast and crew of My Name Is Earlthat the series will not be returning.
Perusing [the] fall lineup schedule for NBC it was clear that Earl was nowhere to be found, and I assumed that the show was cancelled. But it wasn’t until [My Name Is Earl cast member] Ethan Suplee twittered that they got the news that things were certain. ”Just got the call that My Name Is Earl has been canceled. They sure did take their time with that decision or rather informing us of it,” Suplee said in his 140 word maximum post. (via Cinema Blend)
‘Medium’, ‘Kath & Kim’, ‘Knight Rider’, and ‘Life’ have also all been cancelled.

My Name is Earl is likely to be picked up by another network, just like Scrubs was. It’s not completely ‘canceled’ in the typical sense of the word and it pulled in decent numbers. NBC is just over it, but it’s likely to appear on another network.
Woot!
Guess it’s a US thing. Over here, “cancelled” means just that. Thanks for the correction
