Yikes. Remind me not to have my (imminent) total mental breakdown in the public eye. I’ll be doing an Amy Wino and having my breakdown on the floor of the nearest pub.
Poor Mischa Barton. Her breakdown has elicited precisely zero public interest and sympathy, says one insider. And sadly, they may have a point.
Back in 2008, when Britney Spears had her breakdowns and was carted away strapped to a gurney, every paparazzi and their mother stood outside her house and captured every moment. A year on and something similar happens to Barton. Though not directly comparable for obvious reasons, the difference in media interest is staggering. I mean, seriously. No one even really had an accurate account of what had happened, until the next day.
The insider tells The NY Post’s PageSix that Mischa’s rep, Craig Schneider, has been lobbying for his recently hospitalized client to land the cover of one of the celebrity weeklies, but the public interest in the former O.C. star’s mental health just isn’t there.

I don’t think it’s that we don’t care about her being hospitalized….I just think no one really gave a crap about her to begin with.
Way to re-phrase. She had her moment, when on the OC. But people are clearly really over the hype by now.
On the real, it’s not OUR fault she’s done nothing but rep Keds and do drugs since OC (which I hated anyway). And this totally exposes her for the histrionic slag that she is. I dismiss!
She has been on a sliding scale for a while, but the insinuation is that even a 5150 hold isn’t news anymore. Assuming the suicide attemp reports are untrue, this’ll blow over in a hot minute.
You know, other than what you posted I haven’t heard anything about it, so, that kind of makes it hard to care whrn you don’t know about it…lol
Still, it is sad, but she’s not exactly a huge star or anything. She’s destine for reality hell…lol
That’s the point. With a bigger star, the story would have been on every magazine cover, we would have been spoonfed every detail. Hmm. Do you see her on next year’s I’m a Celebrity Gemme out of Here USA?
