The poster for Michael Jackson’s posthumous concert movie, This Is It, has been revealed.
This appears to be the first released and an official poster for the movie. This Is It was compiled from footage of the late singer in his final rehearsals at the Staples Center in LA. Jackson had been preparing to go on a 50-date tour, including the much-hyped appearance at the London O2 Arena in Greenwich.
The thought of this movie gives me the sads and so I won’t be watching. It will be a must-see for fans, sure, but I would rather pretend that not only is Jackson alive and well, but still very much at his 80′s peak. This movie smells a little of exploitation to me. AEG have every right to release their own footage, of course, but every time I walk past my computer with this poster up, I can smell a mix of desperation and exploitation (both smell like chicken).
This Is It will have a two week release, in certain movie theaters in the US, beginning October 28, 2009.

I agree with you totally, Amy.
I do think the movie is aptly named. This is the last chance to make major noise at the till exploiting his name and his genius, so yeah, this is it.
Thanks. It was the mix of this movie being rushed out and the news today that his brother Jermaine has been lying to the press about the line up for the memorial gig; neither Chris Brown nor Mary J. Blige knew anything about it, nor did they argee or sign up to perform (despite Jermaine talking up Mary J. in particular at a press conference).
