I don’t usually post magazine covers. However, I’m sure most readers will agree that this has been a quite exceptional news week. As such, there is a large and macabre set of magazine covers that have been released this Wednesday.
Michael Jackson of course took the lead, with virtually every magazine dedicating their cover to him. A few even rushed out special issues. Farrah Fawcett was unduly screwed out of such a broad sweep of covers and if she adorned more than two magazines it’d be a real surprise.
Covers from the Globe, People, Us Weekly, The National Enquirer, In Touch and Life & Style can be seen below. Still not sure how I feel about the cover of OK, which actually shows MJ dead and in the ambulance on his last trip to hospital. It nearly made me lose my lunch. Not uploading for the time being, but the nasty MJ OK cover can be found for those with stronger stomachs.

I need to buy some of these. Look at Farrah in the corner. SO sad! She didn’t get her moment at all!
She barely got about 6 hours from what I remember (maybe stretching to 12, with media outlets with longer lead-times). Totally overshadowed and forgotten. Agreed. So sad.
they actually showd him getting carried off to the hospital? there is a line that just shouldn’t be crossed. that wasn’t…um….ok…lol
seriously, though. as much as i love michael, i’m kinda getting tired of all the coverage and feel sorry for farrah.
this time next year, i bet folks will be celebrating the anniversary of his death and not a word will be said about farrah. wait and see
Even though it’s my job to report it, I’m sick of it to. I cannot even bear to go on TMZ at the moment as it’s like the official Michael Jackson blog or something – they are virtually covering nothing else and yet they’ve upped their output. I try to only cover significant things in general pop culture or news I can source/ go some way to proving. There are so many lies being told about MJ and that’s why I’ve opted to only write about him about 5 times (compared to near 125 odd for TMZ.com).
That OK cover was gruesome. That just wasn’t cool.
It was sold in the UK, resulting in a deserved on and offline backlash against the publication. Pitifully, they decided to release the cover in the US too. They paid $500k for the image… there are already rumours that they have peed off advertisers etc. I hope this bites them in the butt. Better liked publications like Vibe are imploding and this is no time for shenannigans.
