Melody Thornton dissing Nicole Scherzinger in Phoenix, Arizona
Melody Thornton seems to be making a passive-aggressive remark about her Pussycat Doll (PCD) band mate Nicole Scherzinger in the captioned video above.
There have been rumours of tension in the band for quite some time, as Scherzinger is given increasing importance in the band’s marketing efforts and actual credited solo parts on the group album. Seems Thornton is tired of being the number two singer in the band and made her “Whaaaa!” face during a song introduction.
“Thank you for supporting me [on the song] even though I’m not featured, you know what I’m saying. Don’t let anyone stomp you, EVER!”
I have no idea how one would make a “Gurl, oh no you did-ent” face, but I should imagine that is what Scherzinger did after hearing that catty remark.
Melody Tranny (don’t care about her last name), please! Nicole is the reason why the Pussycat Dolls are famous. She needs to STFU.
Melody has been called shrill by more than one critic reviewing their show – you have a point and she should not look a gift horse in the mouth.
I think that melody has a good voice, but during concerts, she does end up sounding a little weird & not as good as nicole.
I heard the solo tracks on Doll Domination and i only actually liked Space .. the others, i just didnt really like.
I think if there’s a problem, Melody & nicole, or the whole group should just talk about it, vent or do something that’ll prevent them from ending the same way as DK .
because they are the best right now .. and it would suck to have them split because i really think they’re no good solo and are way better staying as a group together..
Welcome and thanks for the comment Berry. Melody is often mocked for being shrill and nasal. I think it’s the fans who are not wanting this to work and so it sucks for her.
Hi there, I think melody has a stronger voice than Nicole. She’s younger, has more energy and has star quality as well. However I think Nicole is more polished as an entertainer and exudes “pussycat dolls” aura. Melody can sing but Pussycat dolls is NOT an R and B group and it seems with the concerts that I have seen that Melody brings her R and B roots to the group which doesn’t mix because pussycat dolls is more cabaret/jazzy kind of feel. I think Melody is
1) Too R&B (which is not bad but I think her style takes away the magic of PCD)
2) Too loud (She reminds me of spice girl–like “girl power” PCD is more mature and sultry..maybe it comes with Melody’s age I don’t know but she seems like she’s angry almost)
3) Too girly (PCD reminds me of Victoria’s secret..anyone who’s seen Melody would probably agree with me..she’s too “girly power” “oh no you did aint” kinda thing going.
My advise to Melody: Girl you are talented and a fire cracker I say instead of Nicole Launching a career you are a better fit to go on your own..cause your voice is strong and you are a bundle of energy. If I was your PR I’d market you along the lines of Beyonce, Britney etc..etc but NOT as a Pussycat dolls.
My advise to Nicole: Keep your composure and always stay professional. People will try to push buttons but you already made a mark as a PCD doll lead singer. There will be people saying its unfair blah blah..but remember even destiny’s child has beyonce as the lead..what’s wrong with that?? However I don’t think this is the right time to go solo yet..the fans are too happy for you to keep singing for PCD. You exude PCD..and as such you are a success regardless because you have brought this group to where they are now..and that’s something that can’t be taken away girl. Keep it up!
Well go head Melody lol. I remember in an interview she said she wanted to be the next Mariah Carey. Um……yeah. The other girls don’t seem to mind being background singers/performers but obviously she does. I actually really liked The Pussycat Dolls when they were a burlesque troupe that performed old songs. Now it seems they are going to end up another Danity Kane.

You are also right that the rest of the troupe do not seem to mind being scantily-clad set decoration. There’s a recession damn it, she should be grateful she has a pay cheque at all.
um…who is this cvhick again? when she can actually step up to Nicole’s talent…or win a reality show in the mid 90s like she did, then she can talk. Othersie she should just sit back there like nice little kitty and wait for th edya when Nicole leaves. We all know it’s coming.

Very childish Melody, that’s why Robin didn’t make you a lead pussycat! Go on your solo if your so miserable there- your staying with PCD because of what???? Leave then, like right NOW—Follow your dreams. all talk but no action Melody.

Thank you for calling out Melody’s lack of action. She could be perusing a million other things… Carmit left. Why did she not leave too?
I think i would be annoyed if Nicole ALWAYS gets the big roles. They DID sing solo songs on the new album but that was on the delux edition. So fans had to pay extra, just to hear the other girls sing more than very quiet background vocals.
Nicole is good at singing, but so are the others. Because if you look at some of their old burlesque shows before they were recording artists, they are all really good singers.
Also, if what i have heard is true. About Nicole wanting to change the name to The Pussycat Dolls ft Nicole Sherzinger. I think that is out of order. Because, even though Nicole steals most of the lime light, they are still a group. She doesnt need to steal any more.
& It seems that it is getting worse. In their first album you could sort of hear the others. & Now, in their newest single. Hush Hush, you can ONLY hear Nicole’s vocals. & Most of the camera time is on Nicole aswell.
I really dont want to see PCD split, because i love them. But, they really do need more equalised amounts of singing time.
