Mel Gibson, 53, and his new girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, 39, appeared together for the first time at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’.
Gibson is not a man to waste any time. Only in the last few weeks has his estranged wife filed for divorce from the actor on the grounds of “irreconcilable differences”, and the mega-rich movie star has already bounced back.
I had one thought and one thought only while reading about this pair in the newspaper on my way home today. Looking through pictures of Grigorieva and making note of the age difference I found myself hoping one thing “Man, I hope this woman’s box and the mysteries held within are worth half a billion dollars”.
There is a lot in this relationship for Grigorieva. She is a former model and the publicity cannot do any real damage to revive her career, if that is what she would like. As for her current aspirations, I hear she also sings, and is signed to Gibson’s recording label Icon.
As for Gibson and what he gets out of this… who knows.
So far as I can see he gets a new thang on his arm and the world’s most expensive cooter. I damn sure hope this is love for real and all joking aside that the parting of a 28-year-marriage and family is worth it.

c’mon, now, we lal now what he’s getting out of this. it’s more a matter of what is she really getting out of this, other than a ot of free publicity for haning on to a guy who has become an ass over the years.
what’s the deal with mel and tom cruise? up until the turn of the milenium they were loved, then they seemed to have snapped. did the planets align and zap their brains or something?
Their interests became twisted. It’s all scummy and desperate to me.

I have always been a Mel fan, well, Lethal Weapons fan, really.
But in so many interviews he praised his wife and also spoke of the Catholic beliefs they both shared, and how much he respected her brains and her faith.
Everyone out in LA (when I was there) knew he F**ed around, but his wife Robin has been taking the high road for many years – who can blame her for finally saying “enough!”.
His hypocrisy bothers me. A good, practicing Catholic man, who has a wife willing to look the other way and put up with the ‘flings’. Now he is “going public” with the new girl – who, if you look at her, she is a slightly more exotic version of his wife – what is up with that???
I agree with the theory Mystery Man is throwing out – what made our ’90′s mega stars get so freaking weird?
Robin Gibson deserves every penny she gets – she has put up with behavior that no one, man or woman, should have to.
And you might notice – she dresses low key, plain, no flashy jewelry – his wife is no gold digger – she supported him when he was a struggling actor (just like Kevin Costners wife Cindy) – I can only think she has been hanging in there for their FIVE kids, and now is the time to split from their very disturbed daddy.
Let’s face it – the guy is disturbed. His career is not at it’s height, and NOW he is going to run around with a doppleganger of his wife? Why?
If he is so family and religion oriented, and there is that much money, why not take the time off and spend it with your wife and 5 KIDS?!
It is beyond a mid-life crisis, in this tired pup’s opinion.
