In other news: British men can embarrass themselves and their families by serial man-whoring, too. Move over Tiger Woods, and Ashley Cole. There’s another, poorer, less interesting, and um, smaller, famous person wanting to make an ass of themselves by slutting it up with multiple women. Married Mark Owen, of 90s band (revived to huge acclaim) Take That, has been caught out as a cheater.
The 38-year-old singer, always in his late teens in my head, had to tell wife Emma about his 10 affairs after one of the women threatened to tell her about a five-year-long relationship. I use the word relationship lightly, but you get the idea. The details of the affairs came out on Tuesday and, yesterday, Owen confessed in public to all ten flings saying, “I have really let [wife Emma] down”
One of Owen’s affairs, with accounts manager Neva Hanley, 24, carried on [during most of his five years with his now wife, Emma], with the lovers sharing a final night together just weeks before his wedding. Another of their encounters took place a week after the birth of his daughter. Other infidelities were drunken one night stands while he was on tour with his band. The star, who admitted his drinking had affected his marriage, tried desperately to apologise to Emma when he came clean on Tuesday, fearing Miss Hanley was about to sell her story. [Daily Mail]
The couple have two children together, but they only married in October 2009 after five years together; the kids are Elwood, three, and Willow Rose, one.
