Madonna has been criticised by children’s charity, Save the Children UK. The not for profit organisation are pointing the finger and saying that the US chart-topper needs to calm down and stop being seen to be buying her way around foreign adoption laws.
The allegations stem from Vadge’s first foreign adoption, of little David Banda. Despite other stars, like Angelina, going through a similar process, the ‘Hung Up’ singer was crucified in the press for throwing her celebrity weight around and thus not having to face the usual wait/ tribulations that go with an American adopting from an African nation. She now faces the same troubles as she reportedly heads back to Malawi to adopt a second child.
According to a statement released by Save the Children UK, Madonna may be sending the wrong message by going through with her plans to adopt a second child from the poor African country, Malawi. A welfare official and a person involved in the adoption proceedings said the singer plans to adopt a 4-year-old girl.
I think buying babies or even giving that impression is screwed up, but frankly, there are more important things going on in the world right now, for people to get their panties in a bunch about this.
