Unlike the time she called in sick to Liz & Dick only to have producers call her on it, and the time she called in sick to Scary Movie 5 and got called on it by Charlie Sheen, and called in sick to the Barbara Walters interview and got called on it by Walters on The View, it’s actually a spectacularly bad idea to phone in sick to court on a day you’re mandated to be there and then get photographed shopping. She claimed to have a respiratory infection making it unsafe for herself and others if she flies to court (her new lawyer submitted a newspaper clipping about the flu as proof), but there are photos of Lohan shopping all day while smoking immediately after which, realising she was caught, she’s suddenly well enough to fly from NYC to L.A. for tomorrow’s court date.
