I have to admit, I wasn’t paying that much attention to this story. Lindsay Lohan wasn’t, so why would I. Pretty much, Lohan has been doing whatever the heck she felt like even when those actions laughed in the face of the Los Angeles courts and her bail conditions. She made a whole bunch of excuses about being caught around drink and drugs, and pretty much just got little more than a Celebrity Justice slap on the wrist. With that in mind, I was content to ignore the story altogether. However, it seems there’s at least one CA judge who hasn’t watched Mean Girls/ wasn’t content to let Lohan roam free and attempt to make fetch happen. That same judge, who we can assume doesn’t have a Blu Ray player or Sky Movies, actually sentenced the cokalicious star to actual jail time. Like, in an actual jail. No kidding. Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail today after prosecutor, Danette Meyers, told tales out of school on her. According to the popo, Lohan will likely only serve around 23 of those 90 days behind bars.
Lindsay Lohan was just sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating her probation in her DUI case, followed by a 90-day inpatient rehab program. The evidence was loud and clear today; Lindsay violated probation by failing to attend her alcohol ed classes based on the schedule set by the judge. There were lots of excuses, but ultimately they didn’t fly. The judge said there was a pattern of violations since Lindsay was placed on probation in 2007 following her plea bargain in her DUI case. Lindsay broke down as she addressed the court, telling the judge, “I did the best I could.” Lindsay dissolved into tears when the judge imposed the sentence. Lohan must surrender on July 20 in Judge Revel’s court. [TMZ]
Pictures show Linday Lohan leaving her probation hearing at the Beverly Hills Courthouse on July 6, 2010 in CA, where she was found in violation of her probation and sentenced to 90 days in jail and an additional 90 days in an in-patient rehabilitation facility following her completion of the jail time.

The part I loved about the sentencing (which I only caught because someone tweeted about it) was the part that went something like this:
Judge: I would like her to surrender immediately.
Lohan: *gasp, sob, blah blah*
Lawyer: Can we have a little bit more time?
Judge: How much?
Lohan: *whisper*
Lawyer: Can we have two weeks?
Judge: Okay, that seems reasonable. [NOT TO ME!]
Lohan: *whisper*
Lawyer: *are-you-fucking-kidding-me look at Lohan*
Lohan: *puppy eyes*
Lawyer: *sigh* Can she have the scram bracelet removed until she surrenders?
Judge: …. Uh, NO.
Jesus Christ. Talk about NOT GETTING IT. And you could tell that the lawyer was mortified to even ask such a dumb question.
I wish I could feel sorry for her, because I do understand addiction is a disease and all that jazz, but I don’t. Some people are nice people and they have substance abuse issues they are working to overcome, and I can feel sorry for them when they fall. But then SOME people are entitled oblivious assholes who believe they can do no wrong and should never have to pay the price for ignoring the more important rules of society… guess where LL falls.
Ha. The level of delusion is astonishing. Surpassed only by her overall disrespect for the court (see post about her doodling swear words on her nails during the sentencing).
