Lily Allen says she is struggling financially and has started to sell personal items to make ends meet.
Lucky for her she only has to sell a few of her fancy pants wares. For example she has been forced to sell her BMW 320 convertible to raise some cash… which to me is like saying you had to sell your tiara collection cos you were too broke to keep up the habit, but whatever.
Allen explains, ”I’ve been hit big time by the credit crunch. Actually, I just had to sell my car because I’m so broke. I bought a car last year and that was probably my biggest extravagance. Clothes too, I’m always buying clothes.”
“I’m completely skint,” she added. “I can’t even spend on credit cards. I mean, I won’t be, as I’m waiting until I get the royalties from the album and all the radio plays but that takes about a year. The banks will usually front your money in that kind of situation but they are not lending at the moment so it’s a tricky time.”

First of all, Miss Amy, in your post a few nights ago where you encouraged long answers, did you realized you were unleashing a beast???
WOMAN!!
I have been holding back!!!
So, because I have to get to work now, you are still receiving only a mini-tome when you deserve so much more.
Lily Allen is most likely broke. I know that it sounds like bullshit, when selling her BMW hurts, ( I do not know about you, but I have never had a new car, much less a BMW. But my brother drove BMW’s for years, and he was just a lowly voice-over artist – Kerrigan Mahan).
Record labels are notorious for holding back money – they have hidden charges in the contract the talent signs, everything from charging the artist for promotion, to all album production costs, to any party they throw for the artist, touring costs, pretty much for the water the artist takes a leak in.
Record labels own the artist – I do not have time to cite the mega-stars that battled their labels for years, stars much more established than Lily Allen – and in these financially troubled times, Allen speaks the truth – the banks are not going to lend, because the banks are collapsing!
NOT a good time to sign a contract with a record label.
If anyone wants to challenge this, go read up on MOTOWN, and what they did to their talent.

Hey there… I thought I felt the earth rumble when I published that piece. I just know that celeb sites, other than this, are notorious for shitty little comments like “first” and the like. My site gets some wonderful comments and I have a readership of thoughtful people, including some fellow publishers/ writers. I just wanted people to know that I notice, read and respond to them and that they can write novels if they wanna… makes my day!
That sucks! I wish I could say that she should have millions and all from all the albums she’s sold, but in this day and age no one really buys albums and the stuff she has sold mostly goes to the record company. On top of all this, the world is in a financial crisis, so I’m sure she won’t be the last to go broke. However, you’d think her record company would help her out, espcially with a new album on the way. She could awlays do the Katy Perry thing and shop at thrift stores.
Of course, if she ends up homeless, she’s always welcome in my bed.
I can hear footsteps, perhaps she is on her way…
I’ll have to kick the gf out, but I’ll be ready. Actually, she such a big fan, it may end up being some real fun

Well, a few glasses of wine and wanting to hear the song……one thing led to another. It was the wine flapping my gums again, lol.
Since “Quadrophenia” is an English film, maybe you can find it cheaper……Do let me know!
It is one of my favorite films that has lasted decades – and I guess the title Is kind of scary! Never thought of it that way!
