LeAnn Rimes sat for an interview with Katie Couric that amounted to feeling all the feelings while getting a handjob. Couric didn’t hold Rimes accountable for causing her own misfortune when the singer became 50% of the reason a family-of-four were separated so that she could sleep around outside her own marriage. Nor is Rimes asked to account for checking into a spa, leaving on weekends, then checking out before the ’30 days’ were over. It’s another instance of minimising cheating as human error, something that happens to everyone, a mistake (um, no, no affair has ever just happened, not ever, but then… I’ve only ever heard other cheaters with self-worth and esteem issues justify their own infidelity that way). There are several more preview videos, below, several minutes worth, and excerpts from the interview I think is airing Friday night, waaaay after my Go Juice and lights out time. As I said… a pity party punctuated with how she’s ‘not the first’ person to cheat. Because being the 1000th means she’s not a skank?
- On entering the spa, but only staying there on weekdays: ‘I think this is the best birthday gift I could ever give myself is just to once again be honest with myself and break down the things that I’ve struggled with for so long.’
- Still not admitting she’s the cause of her own ‘suffering’: ‘People look at you and go, why are you struggling? You know… no one can quite understand why you hurt so badly.’
- On not having a childhood: ‘I wasn’t a kid. It’s as simple as that and so complicated at the same time. [You] like to see your kid be a kid, you know. And I didn’t get any of those things. So I feel like everything was kind of ripped from me and given to me and handed to me on a plate at the same time.’
- On her self-worth: ‘Everything worked around my voice. It was the way that I lived my life. If that was taken away, I want to know who I am outside of that.’
- Shilling her album: ‘The album’s called Spitfire, because I literally feel like at times, I’m spitting fire.’
- On growing a conscience: At least one of her new songs is about contrition, not anger. In ‘What Have I Done,’ Rimes sings dolefully of how she hurt her now ex-husband, Dean Sheremet. Rimes divorced Sheremet after starting an extra-marital affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, who was also married at the time. ‘I’ve carried a lot of guilt for a long time, I think,’ Rimes said. Sheremet, she said, heard the song just after she wrote it and ‘probably knew what it was about before I did.’
- She’s surprised the public don’t approve of her cheating: ‘It was very, very difficult. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone… and especially in the public eye to go through all of it. I made my choices and I’m living with them. And I also have learned from them and I’ve talked about this so much. But I know that…I’m not the only person that goes through this. There’s so many that do.’
- On her stolen family: ‘But for now, I’m totally, totally happy with having [Cibrian's children] running around. And I love them to death.’

What a pathetic interview. Katie coddled Rimes. I’d rather see her with Dr. Phil
The best thing about Leann’s interview is that it demonstrates how careless, slopping, and irresponsible journalism has become. I didn’t think it was possible for any celeb to have 100% control over the media, until I saw the way major media outlets like USA Today, NY Post, ABC, 20/20, Katie Couric, and People magazine weren’t even fact checking anything that Leann told them or that People magazine/Celebuzz posted on Leann’s behalf. When will Showbiz Tonight, 20/20, The View, and People magazine get a clue? Leann always “grows” a “conscience” or “fills remorse” during promotions for her album or singles release. She has pulled this same interview each and every year. If Katie had did her homework before this interview she would have learned that Leann recycled her old interviews. It’s a ploy for sympathy because if people feel sorry for her than in her mind they will buy her album and singles.
It’s bad enough that this interview was a kiss Leann’s behind tribute, but what makes it even worse are Katie’s pathetic attempts to appease Leann via her sucking up tweets. Katie has been tweeting quotes from her interview like crazy and even tweeted about how she loved the songs from Leann’s album. Yes the same songs where Leann brags about sleeping with Eddie while he was married to Brandi and trashes Brandi to justify her affair with Eddie. What does it say about Katie that she would show so much disregard for Brandi and Dean by bragging about how she likes songs that humilate Dean and Brandi? At some point the media needs to take responsiblity for how they encourage Leann’s bad behaviors. When they do things like this it, it only makes it worse for Brandi and her kids. I feel sorry for Brandi’s kids because Leann is going to go crazy setting up staged photo-ops this month and the rest of the year with them because Katie and Whoopie “feel” her pain!
When Leann tweets or blogs about Brandi’s kids, posts a twitpic of them to twitter or her fanwebsite, talk about them in her interviews, retweets anything from that stepmom blog, or sets up a staged photo-op with Brandi’s kids, will Katie Couric kindly remind Leann that she is doing to Eddie’s kids what her parents did to her? Why is it okay for her to thrust Eddie and Brandi’s kids in the spotlight when she is whining about how being in the spotlight “damaged” her?
I think Katie did her job which was to interview that’s all. Leann came across as a self centered shallow person. Acting as if the world owed her happiness and if she found it at the expense of others so be it. Those that know the 411 on this chick knows she lies saying Eddie loved her but where was he to confirm his great love and as far as kids are concerned she wants kids by Eddie badly but she knows that not going to happen. I think Katie has enough info on Leann to know she was not telling it like it is. On talk shows like Katie you can give any slanted version of the truth but on shows like Wendy Williams or Dr. Phil they would have given her a reason to cry. Her pity party was pathetic compared to the couple with the sick child that died only made her look smaller with her whining about ME ME ME.
If Katie Couric had did her homework, she would have learned that
1) Leann lied about feeling guilt for what she did to Dean.
In 2010 Leann told People magazine, “I take responsibility for everything I’ve done. I hate that people got hurt,” says Rimes. “But I don’t regret the outcome.”
2) Leann is whining about having her conversation taped and put online, but she did the same thing to her own father.
“Catherine Dickenson Rimes, who married Wilbur Rimes in 1998 after he divorced LeAnn’s mother, Belinda, told Tennessean reporter Brad Schmitt that the young singer had made secret recordings of conversations which showed her to be “a manipulative and a very demanding spoiled person, someone who’s very used to getting her way.” -CMT
3) ABC News hates Leann and Eddie.
In Dec 2011 ABC News ranked them #2 in their Most Annoying Couple in HW list(they came in 2nd to Courtney and Doug). This was after they did the Robin Robers interview, which must have left ABC News with a bad impression of them, which explains why Leann was initially snubbed from the special at first.
4) Leann told Katie that this was the first time that she has taken care of herself or put herself first, but…in 2010 this is what she told Shape Magazine:
“Through it all, she also learned the importance of taking care of herself. “I’ve always been one of those people who takes care of everyone else—and their needs—first. This past year, for the first time ever, I put me first. I’m sure some people are thinking that I was totally selfish, but the truth is, there are times in your life when you have to be selfish in order to find out what truly makes you happy.”
5) People keep saying that it’s wrong for Leann to be called a homewrecker, but did you see the lyrcis to her song Borrowed? Leann says that Eddie didn’t want to leave Brandi and that she knew what she was doing was wrong, but she didn’t care because she liked having sex with him. She also hints that she kept sleeping with Eddie even though she knew he was still sleeping with Brandi. If Eddie wanted out of his marriage like Leann keeps saying why was he still sleeping with Brandi and leaving Leann alone to wonder if she would ever see him again? She told Robin Roberts that Eddie was unhappy in his marriage and that he found love in Leann, so where was Eddie when Leann was sitting all alone?
Katie didn’t have to say anything you heard no applause or anything during Leann interview they never even showed audience reaction. compared to the reaction Will.i.am got and the couple with the child that died from cancer. . They put Leann on first to show how shallow she is with no recent accomplishments like Will.i.am and the real suffering of a couple who lost their child that brought tears from Katie and her audience. Making Leann appear as a self centered pathetic individual whose only accomplishments are past and present is chasing another woman husband and coveting her children. Audiences know the difference between people with real problems and accomplishments compared to indulgent self serving individuals.
Katie was on twitter making it very clear where she stands. Katie acted more like Leann’s threapist than a reporter and if she is going to make it a point to bring people on her show, then she should at least do her job and do it right. We have seen what happens when the media doesn’t properly question Leann’s lies. Other media outlets repeat and repeat those lies and then they are accepted as fact. Case in point, because of Katie’s butt kissing interview, the women on The View were siding with Leann and defending Leann. That is dishonest to put out a false image of Leann. Someone said that the audience and Katie were in tears, so they don’t know the difference especially when they are not even given the complete story. Katie was wrong and now because of Katie’s enabling, Leann is going to pimp Brandi’s kids out like crazy.
Regardless of what Leann does she trying to keep up appearances to save face because she knows the real truth. She also tweeted and showed a picture of a preggers shirt with honey boo boo knowing she is not pregnant also gave the impression Eddie was ill when was in Colorado she does everything to gain attention and regardless of what media people say the general public is not buying it and they are the ones that count . When Brandi book comes out or that trial takes place that will confirm and leave no doubt what a liar a manipulator she is.
The sympathy she receives from the media is not helping the bashing she is getting from the public. The more she whines the more she gets bashed. The public supports celebs career not the media.The fact she had no band shows her show was in a small venue and I bet some of her band members have moved on. If she needs sympathy to sell her music she must have a very small fan base. The kids will be with their father for Halloween and Leann knows she is an afterthought that’s why she tweets . She needs them for attention they don’t need her.
We have seen all that BS before. It’s just show and tell as usual. Eddie is an actor and this is just another gig paid for by Leann.
This chic wouldn’t know a hard time. She’s a liar, cancels shows with lame excuses, whoa me surgery, dental pain, but then is out getting photographs taken at a restaurant with her “family” less than 24 hours later? She’s a cheater and a liar and ugly. I can’t believe she thinks these interviews make her look better. Geez.
What is the expression? Something like the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. How many times is LeAnn going to give this same interview? Katie should have researched the fact that LeAnn has had her supporters taunt and attack her husband’s ex and the fact that she pays for her own paparazzi and disseminates the photos and stories all over the media herself. It was more of a PR fluff interview to push her album than anything else. LeAnn came across as immature, whiny and with zero self awareness. It was like the only person who has been affected by the affair and fall-out was her. As usual she’s “the only one that matters”. “Rehab” didn’t help LeAnn with her issue of only thinking of herself in every single situation. She says she is starting over but how can that be true when she is still in denial about the havoc she has wrecked on the lives of others? She literally only talked about how everything has affected her. When her new marriage ends, as it definitely will, she is going to lose it completely.

Oh boo hoo hoo, cry me a river. When you mess with someone else’s man, and forget you’re married as well, you’ll get EXACTLY what you have coming to you–and more. Too bad you haven’t learned that lesson yet.

Leann is on twitter this morning annoucing her plans to exploit Brandi’s kids next week, so be ready for those “happy family” staged photo-ops and it’s going to be more than the usual staged photo-ops she normally puts out too. Could she be anymore transparent?

And so Leann’s mega media blitz begins. Leann is so pleased with all the sympathy she received from Katie, The View, and Showbiz Tonight, that she set up a staged photo-op of herself walking out of her hotel smiling like the cat who ate the canary. And she made sure that GG featured the story about how she was going to spend Halloween with “her” and Eddie’s two wonderful kids. Why was it necessary to call up the paps so that they could see her out and about NY? How did the paps find her in NY when she they couldn’t even find her when she was in rehab?
Oh, GOD, you’re right! I just got a mailer from my photo agency with a “photo round-up” which usually just contains the Kardashians or whomever was out that day. I’ve never EVER seen LeAnn in there before, because they stopped following her.
And, yet, minutes ago, I got an email entitled “NEW INF PHOTOS: Alicia Keys!; LeAnn Rimes!; Bar Refaeli!” with this for LeAnn: “October 26, 2012: LeAnn Rimes leaves her hotel in New York City today wearing tight jeans and fringed boots.”
She literally MUST have phoned my agency, INF Daily, because they stopped photographing her in late JUNE, according to my account. I’m not kidding.
I think Leeann doth protest too much. And if Eddie loves her so much, how come we never here him say it? Or support her by sitting next to her? She is always alone in her interviews. She must be totally jealous of Brandi for being on the Housewives of Beverly Hills (well that and many other things). She would kill to be on that series. She can’t stand that thought that Brandi is on tv once a week and earning good money. While she has to make herself relevant by making up stories and photo ops. Poor Brandi. I can’t imagine having Leanne as a stepmom to my kids.
Chapter 2 of Leann’s mega media blitz: “Eddie isn’t cheating because he is here on tour with me and holding my hand as we sight see.”
I was wondering why Leann hasn’t cancelled her concerts since her “partner in crime” wasn’t in NYC with her. Well Eddie is indeed joining Leann and that is why she hasn’t cancelled her concerts as result of “dental problems”. Why is Leann’s dental pain always associated with the absense of Eddie from her tours? If Eddie had refused to go on this tour with her she would have canceled those concerts. Sad. So what did she have to give Eddie to get him on this tour with her? A weekend with his “friends”(aka mistress) in Aspen?
So Leann is going to show us that Eddie is her “partner in crime” by:
Staging a photo-op of Eddie at an airport with a nice fluffpiece about how he is such a good husband for going on tour with his wife.
Staging photo-ops of themselves “sightseeing” and engaging pda in NYC.
Fluffpiece based on the numerous twitpics of Leann and Eddie making out that Leann will post to twitter and her fansite.

It’s so over for Leann Rimes. People literally hate her guts. She comes across as one of the most unlikeable people I’ve ever seen. Three years ago, she was not in the public eye at all and now we are “treated” to idiotic staged photo ops on an almost daily basis. One of her fans made a video of herself singing Happy Birthday to Leann and if you watch it, you get a real idea of who her remaining fan base is. I’ll leave it at that as I don’t want to be cruel but between Holly in East Tennessee and this woman, you get a clear picture of who Leann still appeals to. This person thinks that Leann is her personal friend but comments that Leann didn’t remember her name. It also makes it clear why the posts defending Leann read the way they do. This next album, which is basically an ode to the affair that broke up two marriages, is going to bomb just like that last on did. That is her last one with Curb and no other record companies are going to want to sign her considering her small fan base and decade long career slump.
This is what Leann tweeted along with a photo of herself posing with 2 Hooter waitresses: “We just surprised my steel player Rusty w/ lunch from his favorite restaurant for his bday along with 3 adorable Hooters girls to deliver it”
Replace steel player Rusty with Eddie Cibrian and now it makes even more sense why Eddie is on tour with Leann. So Leann thinks that if she supplies the women for her husband, then he won’t divorce her. So now Eddie likes waitresses from Hooters! Why is Leann posing with the waitresses if they are for her steel player Rusty like she claims? Probably the same reason Eddie made her make out with Lizzy while he watched and took photos.
And so Leann’s “Pimp my bonus kids” mega media blitz continues…
This is what Leann tweeted about “her” and Eddie’s two wonderful kids earlier today because being forced into the spotlight at a young age was so traumatic for her that she can only cope by inflicting that same lifestyle upon Brandi’s kids: ” leave for 6 days and theses sweet boys look like they’ve grown and inch and are a year older when I come home. #stoptime”
Maybe they look taller and older to Leann because Leann and Eddie haven’t been together in the same house for about 3 or 4 weeks. It’s amazing that she is dropping all these hints and the media(aka KATIE COURIC and Eonline) wants to keep insisting that all is well.
Eddie is such a low life. He is only allowing Leann to exploit those boys because Leann promised him a cut from the lawsuit. How sad that he is driven by money to the point where he sells out his own kids. Why would anyone watch anything Eddie is in when he continues to allow Leann to exploit his kids? If Hot In Cleveland doesn’t want to suffer the fate that every show experiences when Eddie comes in contact with it, then they had better tell him to get some control over Leann and her tweets about his kids.
I’m glad that Leann didn’t release any staged photo-ops/twitpics with Eddie from NYC, but it also means that the staged photo-ops she is going to release on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are going to be far worse. Those poor kids.
Oh no, get ready for Leann’s wrath. People magazine put Blake and Miranda on their cover and they are talking about their marriage. People magazine doesn’t know the turmoil it has just created by making this move. We all witnessed what happened when Katie, ABC, and 20/20 tried to exclude Leann from All Access Nashville, so image what Leann is going to do to People magazine for the next 3 months. So how long before Leann and her lawyer force People magazine to put Leann, Eddie, Eddie’s parents, and “their” two wonderful kids on their a cover? Will it be November, December, or January? Since RHOBH airs in November, I won’t be surprised if that is when People magazine puts Leann and Eddie on their cover to appease Leann. Or will Leann go straight to US Weekly and have them make up for People magazine’s snub? Leann did all that promotion of her “happy family” on Katie and All Access Nashville only have People magazine slap her in the face by putting Miranda and Blake on their cover.
