LeAnn Rimes and her husband Dean Shermet are officially getting a divorce.
The couple have been on the rocks for a while. For some time earlier in the year, they actually fought rumours of a break up. They stopped trying to fight the obvious when magazines published stories of Rimes having an alleged affair with CSI: Miami star Eddie Cibrian.
The split of both Rimes and her hubby, and Cibrian from his wife is no shocker. The fact that confirmation of both splits took so damn long is the only thing raising eyebrows at this point.
The announcement was made on the 26-year-old’s website on Tuesday (September 1, 2009): “After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Dean and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage.”
On the same day the singer was spotted out and about (gallery).
Oddly, the images snapped aren’t of her getting sauced with her girls, but of her looking glum out on the streets of Santa Monica, California. I’d be boozing and wh*ring it up myself. Some people don’t know how to pAArty after being freed from a relationship with their fake gay husband.
Rimes and Shermet have been married since February 2002.

I am willing to donate my services to LeAnn which will be to school her in the art of appreciating freedom. Having been released from a sham of a marriage myself, I now have a resume of things I have done the last 10 years that were prohibited during the previous 20.
One of which is having fun with abandon. Another is taking a nice long deep breath and then screaming, ‘Let the fun begin.!’

Welcome back, Tess. I get the sense from the often over-excitable Katie Price that there is at least some joy in being let off the leash. A sham marriage must double that feeling.
TOTALLY with you on her being lucky they were yet to have kids and she’s still so young. She can chock this up to “starter marriage syndrome” and get on with her life.
