I was totally going to write a post about Lauren Conrad from MTV’s The Hills yesterday, making fun of her fail fashion line and pointing out that because it had not been shifting from its stores (such as Kitson), it had been essentially scrapped.
From what I hear the main issue was the uninspired design and the cheapo fabrics. As a designer, she was kind of being the Victoria Beckham of the US (Posh’s jeans line was accused of the same thing).
Anyhoo, glad I got distracted by another Octopussy porno offer story and scrapped Conrad, as it seems I may have jumped the gun.
The reality star took to her official MySpace blog to let people know the earlier reports of her clothing line going down the shitter where rather exaggerated.
According to OKmagazine.com, while Conrad does admit that it’s true that the stores carrying her clothing line were notified that there’d be nothing new coming from the reality star, she says, “a lot of people were under the impression that my line was being discontinued or had been dropped. This isn’t the case at all.”
“The truth is I was the one who asked to take a couple seasons off. I have learned so much in the past year and I want to apply that to the improvement of my clothing line. I also wanted to make some changes in production so I would be able to lower the price point.”
“That being said, I am actually really excited about beginning this process. I have spent the last couple weeks working on designs for spring, which is when I am planning to bring the (new and improved) line back. I also have some very exciting things going on that will be announced shortly. So stay tuned!”

I hope she fails! :0
…from what I have been reading, she totally will.
