Lady GaGa has shocked precisely no one by appearing nude for Out magazine’s September 2009 issue. GaGa has gone topless and semi-nude before, but off the top of my head this is the first full nude shoot she has done.
She shows little more than side-boob and her booty in the Ellen von Unwerth shoot, but it’s still a little NSFW… so scroll to view with caution.
Before agreeing to tour with Kanye West this fall, Gaga told the rapper, “I just want to be clear before we decide to do this together: I’m gay. My music is gay. My show is gay. And I love that it’s gay. And I love my gay fans and they’re all going to be coming to our show. And it’s going to remain gay.”
That’s another clause in the Gagaland constitution: Gay culture shall gush undiluted into the rapids of society. It shall not be co-opted, fancified, dolled up, or Uncle Tommed. “I very much want to inject gay culture into the mainstream,” she says, “It’s not an underground tool for me. It’s my whole life. I think the pictures are pretty original – can’t imagine a little priss performer posing like this. I knew she was gay (bi, specifically) as she’d mentioned it in other interviews. She kept is generally on the lo though…
I like her music but i’m not a fan of her whole shtick. It seems forced and pretentious sometimes but….I do like these pics. Especially the one with the skeleton. Ellen Von Unwerth is an amazing photographer.
Hey girl, same here – could not have put it better. She is as manufactured as anyone else in the charts. If she was a little more honest about that in her approach, perhaps she would not put so many people off.
