Late 2009, Khloe Kardashian became engaged and was given the above $850,000 12.5 carat diamond engagement ring by Lamar Odom (it was originally reported Wookiee’s ring was 9 carats, but she soon corrected that to be 12.5 carats). Today, it has been announced on the cover of People that Kim Kardashian is engaged, two years after the youngest Kardashian (the teenagers are Jenners). Kim Kardashian was given a 20.5 carat $2,000,000 custom Lorraine Schwartz ring by fiance Kris Humphries, who has the same first name as the Kris Jenner. Moreover, the covers/ headlines write themselves as his name starts with a ‘K’ too. It’s already being claimed by HollywoodLife.com that Kim Kardashian most probably had to pay for her own engagement ring. ‘Kris [Humphries] is of course a well paid basketball player, earning $3.2 million this season, but after taxes and general living costs this is a far less sum,’ notes the website. ‘Even taking all the money he has made to date, roughly $17 million, would make purchasing this ring a huge, huge financial investment. Khloe Kardashian received a stunning ring from Lamar Odom, a basketball player who is far better compensated than Kris, but that was less than half the cost of Kim’s.’
